I have a diabetic question. I also have underactive thyroid
I've had type 1 diabetes since age 20 and now age 68 I'm being tested for insulin resistance. I did have pcos when I was a teenager. I'm also obviously using twice the insulin than I normally use for very little carbs. What's happening.

Afinitor and blood sugar
Today is day 9 on Afinitor and Aromasin. I had previously been on Ibrance and it stopped working. Other than a few mouth sores, nausea, and some serious fatigue, the Afinitor seemed to be working. I was especially worried about my blood sugar since high blood sugar is listed as a possible side effect

GRAVES AND THYROTOXICOSIS : OTHER METABOLIC ASPECTS, CARBOHYDRATE METABOLISM
The basal oxygen consumption in thyrotoxicosis, as measured by the BMR, is elevated. The increase is above the level of metabolism that the person would have if he or she were not thyrotoxic. In extreme thyrotoxicosis, the BMR may be double the standard, that is, according to the usual mode of expression

Are You Struggling?
There have been a few posts lately where people are getting a little discouraged and wondering whether LCHF is for them. Well, first of all, the biochemistry is rock solid, and when applied properly the results are there for EVERYONE. Basically, ALL diets have one thing in common - whether low carb

Exercise and peak HR
If a cardiologist has said there is nothing wrong with my heart, bar hypertension and some plaque in arteries is it ok to jog and have a HR of 162? I love jogging but HR goes high when I do it. I can row and cycle and HR goes to 130 max but I don't get the buzz. Cardiologist suggested there may be autonomic

METHOTREXATE Injection or Pill form
Been on Methotrexate 15 mgs for a good while now 5 months. Always had nauseasness problems even taking Folic Acid the day after. Its been suggested I change to self injecting the liquid variety of the drug. Anyone else gone down this path please and with what results. Not bothered about actually injecting

Triglycerides to HDL ratio
Hi, I've just been reading that a low triglyceride/hdl ratio can indicate that you have good insulin sensitivity and relatively large, less harmful LDL particles. Does anyone know if this is true? The reason I ask is because since starting statin therapy and adopting a mainly Mediterranean diet my blood

Before starting with the Zytiga and being on adt plus casodex, my PSA was .2 and T was 290. With Zytiga and Prednisone added after six weeks

Suicidal thoughts
I just can't cope any more with it. I'm into the 8th year of all this. I've had 7 years of having to have perfect sugar levels, test and tests to be told "everything's fine" to then later be told I have endometriosis which is what causes me all the pain I suffer with. I then have had 5 fresh ivfs on

Why LDL cholesterol goes up on LCHF diet and is it bad for health?
Following LCHF diets raises HDL level, lowers triglyceride, lowers insulin and increases LDL cholesterol. While first three are considered beneficial, there is concern about high level of LDL cholesterol. The presentation below by Dr Nadir Ali, concludes we should celebrate high LDL level because it
