spacer with mask vs spacer with mouthpiece
Hi all, I have recently been prescribed a spacer with a face mask- apparently it’s the latest recommendation. I have used a spacer with a mouthpiece for years. The idea is that you breathe normally through the mask , it should be more efficient at delivering the dose of inhaled medication- meaning that

eosinophil - cause for concern
hI I will contact my GP but as a I have been advised that my mild asthma has returned, I had a CBC and got the following eosinophil count - observation 0.9 10*9/l [0.0 - 0.4] is this typical for an asthmatic? does it mean EA? How much of a cause for concern should this be as I am anxious? I have

medical practice changing my inhaler for no apparent reason
I have just received a text message from my medical practice to say they are changing my inhaler from Fostair to Luforbec as per NHSL guidelines don’t know what these guidelines are . I have been on Fostair for 10 years and my asthma has fairly well controlled I’m a bit concerned to make this change

Asthma and mental health effects.
Hi, this is my first post on this forum. I was diagnosed with asthma , mild asthma about two years ago. Went on a reliever first than a preventer . Eventually got the side effects of fasciculations and restless legs at night when trying to get to sleep .In September last year a rheumatologist identified

COPD medications
My mum was diagnosed with COPD and asthma over 10 years ago (though most probably had it much longer than that). She is increasingly breathlessness on any exersion, but Dr's don't feel she needs oxygen as her levels settle to acceptable levels quickly. However they feel that her condition is uncontrolled

Looks Like My Cholesterol Is High, Yikes
I've spent the best part of the day at my local hospital today. I saw my GP as I'd been experiencing increasing shortness of breath over the last week or so and as I had pericarditis last summer I think they wanted to be sure it wasnt anything similar. So I got sent to the one stop shop aka SDEC, same

oxygen on flight advice sought
I have had lupus for many years. I have interstitial lung disease and had a small part of lung removed due to lung cancer. My lung stats are 52 pev. I would like to fly short haul later in the year. My rheumatologist has suggested I may struggle with cabin pressure. I don’t use oxygen or inhaler

Off Topic....Stroke, but I can't find a UK stroke forum
And I'm guessing that some people here may have experience with relatives/friends. This is going to be difficult to read, let alone write. It is quite a harrowing series of events. My 36yr old daughter (K) has had 2 acute strokes. K is hypothyroid + Type 1 diabetic + Bi-lateral Frozen Shoulders

Adrenal Insufficiency and reducing steroid inhaler
Hi,I was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency last year and have been stable on 20mg of hydrocortisone. My respiratory consultant has reduced me from 2 puffs twice a day of 160 Alvesco to 3 puffs once a day. Now I'm feeling unwell. Could the reduction in my inhaler be impacting my adrenal insuffiency

Steam inhaler recommendation
I’ve had a chest infection and Sinus infection. On the mend now with help of antibiotics and steroids. I have COPD and Asthma and for the past couple of years if I get a bad cold or some virus it always goes to my chest and Sinus and I end up struggling and needing antibiotics and steroids to recover
