I did not know about this so looked it up. It is a Finnish device which is franchised throughout the world. Mostly in Australia.

Basically it is an electric kettle with a mouthpiece attached to the steam outlet.

Steam inhalations have been a treatment for respiratory problems for centuries. This is just a modern version.

For most of us with respiratory problems the nebuliser serves the same purpose. It can be used with saline, airway opening drugs, and antibiotics. This device can only make steam from water.

Also, for most of us the nebuliser is supplied by the hospital. A nebuliser is certainly cheaper than this device.

However, although I am not a doctor or physio I cannot see it doing harm if someone finds it comforting and helpful in loosening mucus, as I said, steam has been used for centuries for that purpose. As it uses resistance training it would be advisable to consult your respiratory consultant as not all conditions are not safe to use resistance devices. For instance, I have bronchiectasis and can use an aerobika device or similar but because of the fragility of my lungs it would not be safe to use a device with stronger resistance.

For some people it might be an interesting aid, especially during a virus But at €249 for a glorified kettle when nebulisers are available 🤷‍♀️

I too have read up on it.it certainly makes interesting reading .for those it's suitable for, it's certainly had good results, with resistance training combined with steam.many moons ago, b4 my lungs were failing, & as frail as they are, i'd certainly have given this a try. I'd get the info printed off & see if Yr gp feels it would b suitable4u,b4 investing in one
