Exercise / running/ attack
1st attack of the year. Ran 2 miles and couldn’t breathe. Just Had 6 puffs of my blue inhaler and am back Home now. I had 2 puffs before I went on the run as recommended by nurse. I guess thats running out the window for the foreseeable. I did the marathon in October without a wheeze in the world,

So..... you have asthma!
I hope most of this is not new to most people (and so apologies for probably boring you senseless 😅). But there seem to be quite a number of people new to asthma (hi and welcome to HU!) who haven't been told the basics and for whom proper monitoring and care is not happening. Also I know of people who

Recycling inhalers
Does anyone have any idea of the current state of affairs regarding recycling the plastic component of inhalers? GSK had a scheme, but just now when I looked for that webpage it was no longer there. Also I have struggled to find a place in York - the GSK named places looked like question marks when I

Newly diagnosed and struggling with symptoms
I was diagnosed with asthma during lockdown and have never had a face to face appointment or been assessed. Since being diagnosed, I haven't yet found a treatment that works and have been prescribed 3 different preventer inhalers. In the last fortnight, I have felt like breathing is exhausting and like

Flare ups after reducing prednisolone
I’ve only been diagnosed with asthma recently and as I wasn’t using a preventer previously my symptoms were out of control and I was prescribed prednisolone. Initially this was only for 5 days but I struggled to come off them and so was put on them for a longer period. After speaking to a consultant

Asthma and Lost Voice!
Has anyone experienced this? Hello all, I am looking for some advice please. I've had asthma for past 4 years but for the past year I am still trying to control it. Having used a number of inhalers I have been changed from Fostair to Trimbone to see if that will help control my asthma (shortness of breath

How do I know which came first?
Hello all, new forum member here. Sorry if this post is a bit long....I'm predicting it may be... :) The question I have, is how do you know if you have anxiety/panic attacks caused by asthma, or does asthma cause the anxiety? I realize that it's a bit of a chicken and egg problem with no easy answer

I've quit inhalers -- anyone else?
Have not posted in a long time. Was diagnosed with emphysema about 4 years ago. I think I'm Stage 2. I'm 68, quit smoking 25 years ago, but thinking back I showed signs of breathing issues in my mid-30s. Here's the thing: I was immediately given 3 inhalers upon diagnosis and used them religiously until

Provenge Failed
Provenge treatment failed, in 4 attempts to harvest cells, only 1 cycle was successful. Doctors aren’t sure why failed, apparently failure very rare. First condition Sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease which in my case affects the lungs, am on Trilogy inhaler, and also have the disease inside my upper

Chestiness during jogging during cold/minus temps, better to stop? Puff on inhaler a few times and push through? Thank you:)
Hi all, when jogging in cold/minus temps, is it unhealthy to fight through the chestiness? I puff my inhaler (steroid) before and then maybe twice (1×rescue 1×steroid) during the job but am wondering am I doing more damage than good? Hope everyone is breathing well today!

Asthma getting worse
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a good Christmas! I haven't posted on here for a while but was looking for some advice... I am 27 years old and have never had a problem with my asthma up until this year. Earlier in the year I was quite ill (no symptoms of covid but they aren’t ruling it out). Since

Ventolin vs Symbicort
I’ve just been prescribed Symbicort instead of Clenil + ventolin. I understand the difference between the contents of the inhalers and when to use them. My question is about the reason for the different effect when using Symbicort as a reliever compared to ventolin. When I’m having a flare, ventolin

Quick question
Hi hope everyone is ok. I just have a quick question ohh actually might be two in one. I’ve been taking Fostair inhaler with spacer for nearly a week now, I think it is helping so far, although it made me shaky the first few times of taking it, and I get a mild tickly throat. I also have ventolin as
