Restarting RA meds after having Covid
Hi allI had Covid and took antivirals. I tested positive on the 12th October and first tested negative on the 17th October. The nurse said I can have my Tocilizimab injection now. I am just questioning if it's too soon. I have a lot of catarrh it is clear, no infection. I am also extremely tired, getting

Covid - Beware Getting Treatment - Don’t Test Positive on a Friday - Some Answers
Well I said I would update you all regarding the ordeal I had had regarding my previous posts on this subject. Don’t want to bore you all but some may be interested in what I have managed to find out. I laid out to the NHS what I needed answers to and what they were doing about it to prevent it happening

Effect of Covid on Platelets
I’ve had thrombocythaemia for many years and it’s been well controlled initially by Hydroxycarbamide and in more recent years by Hydroxycarbamide and Anagrelide together. At the beginning of September I developed covid and tested positive over a period of twenty days. Early in October during a face

Herpes (or acyclovir usage) affecting implantation after ivf embryo transfer?
I have had herpes for about 10 years. I have noticed more outbreaks during stims. I've already had 2 failed transfers and am worried both that having herpes and /or taking acyclovir will affect implantation for my last transfer. I've read some conflicting studies on acyclovir and it's effect on implantation

PMR & COVID Vaccine Link?
In another thread which I began on a different subject, the possibility of a link between PMR and COVID vaccine came up. In that thread, for the first time I saw something other than idle speculation that the vaccine and PMR might be l inked: A study published[u] in the journal Rheumatology

due for a blood test later today, which I would normally have before my Rheumy visit (scheduled for next week) Come down with a blooming cold, started a few days ago - I’ve been reasonably lucky to have by passed most doing the rounds of our office 😬 - just done a COVID test to make sure and it’s come

My GCA Update
I just got done with my MRIs and MRAs, so we’ll see if results show much. My blood test came back with sed rate normal (always has been) and C-reactive prrotein headed down. It went from normal in PMR, to 1.3 and then 2.0 in GCA. Now at 0.8, so barely high and heading in the right direction. Still feeling

Workplace Injury
I work in the dental field and was trimming an imperino I was taking on a patient. When trimming the impression, he scalpel slipped and cut my finger fairly deeply. I checked the impression and there was no obvious blood contamination, likely only a small amount of saliva. After following proper protocol

Covid vaccine
I've been offered a covid jab as I work with vulnerable people but I'm currently experiencing a real flare up of my asthma. Has anyone else had this situation and gone ahead with the jab? Did it make it worse? I'm thinking to postpone the vaccination.

Covid vaccine - symptoms worsening?
Good evening. Wondering if anyone has experienced AF symptoms worsening after a covid vaccine? I have paroxysmal AF and am in day 6 of AF…usual symptoms so far (palpitations, high heart rate, breathlessness when active, occasional lightheadedness) so nothing out of the ordinary. However I had the covid

Should I postpone Covid booster?
Apologies this question was asked recently but can’t find it now! Do you think I should postpone my covid jab tomorrow? Have been fibrillating for 9 days. Felt fairly weary to start with though pulse rate not above 100. Still out of rhythm but feel I am getting better every day and don't want it to

Allergy to prednisolone?
Hi everyone I have severe asthma and was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency in 2020 after taking lots of Pred when Covid triggered my asthma. I was just left on 5mg Pred for two years with no endocrinology involvement. I was eventually transferred to an endocrinologist who tried me on hydrocortisone

NEIGHBOUR JUST GOT COVID VAX
Quick one - I think. My neighbour, who helps me during these back issues, just got a Covid booster and Flu vax yesterday. Is it possible for her to transmit the virus to me? Is "immune compromised" the correct term for us PMR folk? Am I being paranoid? TIA
