I am wondering if I am alone in being aware of the connection between my adrenals and my dopamine deficiency and resulting tremors. I’d appreciate all feedback, whether academic or incidental.
Firstly, I definitely have a dopamine deficiency because my dexterity can return to perfect for the small windows provided by dosing with levodopa.
I was diagnosed with essential tremor about 8 years before I started taking mucuna and C/L for a dopamine deficiency. Therefore, I am familiar with taking propranolol (beta blocka/Inderal) to slow down the heart which helps the tremors. I don’t know if doctors make the connection, but it is obvious to me that my adrenal fight-or-flight trigger is the cause of my tremors. I had had an extended period of high stress and my adrenals developed the habit of trying to run the show, thereby suppressing my dopamine production.
So, even though levodopa addresses the bradykinesia and tremors, an adrenal breakthrough from any one of the following causes can interfere with the levodopa treatment. Viral infection, stress and excitement, and mercury poisoning all trigger an adrenal response. These same factors aggravate Parkinson’s.
What research is there on rehabilitation of the adrenal glands?
