Hello, I'm 70 years old. Last week I had a vitamin B12 shot on Monday, and then on Tuesday I saw a hematologist because I wanted to rule out that I'm anemic. He ordered labs (they did them right there on site). A few minutes later, he said I was not anemic and was also probably not B12 deficient. (so

Do My Vits B12 & D Need Increasing?
Hi, had my vitamin B12 and vitamin D blood test taken on Monday (via Medichecks). My results: vitamin B12 (active): 150 nmol/L (lab range 37.5 - 188) vitamin D: 179 nmol/L (50-250) Do I need to increase these? I don't know what the optimum levels should be. Thank you.

Hi. Probably in t he wrong section but all thoughts welcome. My ferratin is in the 'normal' range but low and dropping, even though I have been taking oral iron spray daily, liquid iron supplement given by my doctor, high iron foods in my diet. I get days of complete fatigue, other days I can cope but

Review of Betine
Betaine -- also called betaine anhydrous, or trimethylglycine (TMG) -- is a substance that's made in the body. It's involved in liver function, cellular reproduction, and helping make carnitine. It also helps the body metabolize an amino acid called homocysteine. I often read about homocysteine yet

Another general B12 article
This article https://www.mdpi.com/2076-393X/10/11/1966 is interesting for it's review of the general role of vitamin B12 in a specific category of disorders. The part containing mention of B12 is section 4.3.

The other B vitamins
Hello, I've just read that B6 deficiency can cause pins and beedles and possibly other symptoms similar to B12 deficiency. It's made me wonder about the need to test for other B vits besides Folate and B12. So far my daughter and I have tested B12, Folate, Vit D, Iron Panel, Thyroid antibodies, CRP

Blood results
HiI'm just looking some advice on recent NHS b12 and folate results: B12 284 (197-779) Folate. 4.6 (3-26) Of course GP receptionist said all 'normal " on phone but I have asked for a print out of results and will pick them up tomorrow. I had asked my GP if I could be tested for intrinsic factor

Vitamins
Hi allI posted here last week my vitamin test results from medichecks. My active B12 and folate were low so as per advice on the forum I have held off supplementing until my GP tests for pernicious anaemia. My mother had PA and I certainly do have some symptoms of B12 deficiency. I'm due to get my bloods
