New diagnosis -76 year old mom
Maybe Keytruda and some other
immunotherapy
? And it does seem like it's "sneaky" from others posts and can move around and every case seems so different. Is there a "typical" treatment? At her age she is probably not going to want to do a lot of radical surgery as she might if she was younger.

it's stable I'm currently on pemetrexed every 3 weeks and apart from a few aches and pains very much getting on with it Although I carry on deep down I'm gutted but still remain positive as my oncologist has said he would hope that the chemo would be long term and if it failed then I would go onto

Have I waited too long?
Meanwhile I paid for a consultation in London and was sent to the UCLH research centre with the possibilty of being offered a phase one
immunotherapy
trial. My tumour sample was sent to UCLH for testing.

Anyone watching Trust me I’m a doctor? Link between mental health & autoimmune conditions!
I’m just watching Trust me I’m a doctor on bbc 2 & they have just looked at recent research where people with mental health problems had their antibodies tested and many were found to have an autoimmune disease, they were then treated with
immunotherapy
and a large proportion showed huge improvements

Just so sad
He’s been offered another treatment but he has opted to go on an
immunotherapy
clinical trial. I hate this disease. How can I love each day watching this disease destroy our family. Not really any point to this just feeling so sad x

Intro and Immunotherapy question
My onc recommends
immunotherapy
before Zynga/Xtandi. Any comments from those who have had Provenge would be appreciated. A trial is available which adds Yervoy (Ipilimumab) after the Provenge. If anyone has experience with this I would love to hear about it.

Time for my story.
I have this week had my first session of
immunotherapy
, and was not at all good on the second day, but things have now settled down. This is my second bout of cancer, 26 yrs ago I had breast cancer and with all the chemo and radiotherapy survived this long.

Soy & PCa
New study of isoflavones & PCa risk below [1]. Isoflavones form a subfamily of polyphenols with estrogenic properties. The most well-known phytoestrogen is genistein. Soybean products are a significant source of genistein in the diet. Getting up to speed after a PCa diagnosis, we are likely to read

Sperm banking prior to immunotherapy
We saw an oncologist yesterday who said that
immunotherapy
will follow surgery . He suggested that my son bank sperm prior to receiving the
immunotherapy
. Does anyone have information about this? The whole experience is more than overwhelming . I welcome any words of wisdom.

Dad w/Stage 4 Lung Cancer
He has Non Small Cell and was a candidate for KEYTRUDA, an
immunotherapy
. He had his first treatment on October 2 and we wound up in the ER within 2 hours with what they were saying was the flu. I’m not buying that because he was fine before the treatment.

My wife's current condition
Following radiotherapy and aggressive chemotherapy to treat Stage 4 Lung Cancer (non-small cell lung cancer metastesised to bones), my wife had extremely successful
immunotherapy
on a clinical trial leaving her with only 3 tiny lung tumours, which continue to shrink.

I was wondering.....
I also receive Avastin and
immunotherapy
/placebo. This was more difficult side effects than before. I was more nauseated and the body aches were worse and lasted longer as well. I am a very positive person and the treatment is working so please do not take it at a complaint.

Waiting
We have an appointment for a second opinion next week but it's an NHS referral and the Consultant has already informed our Gp that she is unlikely to disagree with the original oncologist. ( not sure how this equates to a 2nd opinion) My husband tested negative for mutations/PD-L1 so can't have

Sleepless on steroids and an update!
I was also interested in
immunotherapy
, particularly Avelumab as I know there have been some hopeful results using this drug for OC in trials but it’s not licensed for it yet. Disappointed to learn trial no longer recruiting in London but anyone know about others coming up?
