Headaches and Brain MRI
No tumors, no problems caused by
immunotherapy
. Hoping headaches will ease without being compounded by my worst fears.

Synergy between radiation of metastases and immunotherapy confirmed
Two clinical trials have now confirmed the abscopal effect in prostate cancer. The abscopal effect occurs when cancer antigens activate the immune system, which then goes on a "search and destroy" mission. Cancer antigens are released into the blood by radiation or chemotherapy. In one longterm trial

In focus: targeted therapies - PARP inhibitors
For example, studies have looked into giving PARP inhibitors together with chemotherapy, instead of chemotherapy and in combination with other targeted therapies such as Avastin or other
immunotherapy
drugs.

Immunotherapy for MPNs presentation
Here is another of the videos from the MPN Patient Forum. Just watched it and it is really informative. Very comprehensible and informative regarding CALR and JAK2v617f mutations and their impact on the immune system. https://www.crt.org/mpn-patient-symposium-videos/

Unfortunately surgery has been ruled out, as have chemo and radiotherapy - I am waiting results of tests to determine if I am suitable for
immunotherapy
. Not sure what this thing is, nor what to expect down the line so thought I'd ask here.

Researchers Are Starting to Study the COVID-19 Vaccine in Autoimmune and Immunocompromised Patients
It is common to not include people who are on medications that can affect the immune system, including oral corticosteroids, disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs), biologics, and cancer treatment (chemotherapy, radiation,
immunotherapy
) in vaccine clinical trials.

Have any of you had
immunotherapy
with good success? Is this used as a last resort? Can you use it in conjunction with Zytiga?

Starting Chemo & Immunotherapy this week
His oncologist at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa said he was a good candidate for a clinical trial of an
immunotherapy
drug. Opdivo is currently being used for other type cancers but now they want to see if it works for prostate cancer.

Study on diet and outcomes in prostate and other cancers
Improved outcomes in colon cancer and patients on
immunotherapy
were found with high-fiber diets. Improved outcomes in malignant gliomas were found with ketogenic diets. Improved outcomes in prostate cancer and breast cancer were found with plant-based diets.

Hope to be helpful
Since taf/mek stopped functioning we tried a duo of
immunotherapy
, and my body denied it. Keytruda was tried once (one infusion) before it took over my body before, and oncology assumed it didn’t work, so we went straight to chemotherapy.

Is anyone on this site enrolled, or about to enroll, in the bispecific t-cell engager (BiTE) trials involving Regeneron, Harpoon, or Amgen? Thanks in advance.

Not good news 👎
Mums doctor phoned to say the
immunotherapy
isn’t working anymore. After two really positive scans, one substantial shrink, the second stable, we were hoping our luck would continue. He didn’t mention spread, just that is wasn’t working. Mum doesn’t ask questions!!

The Doctor said they have found microscopic cancer cells (R1) in the site where the tumour was, so I'll be doing the Chemo, Radiotherapy and possible
