Third covid jab
Has anyone received the third covid jab yet?, not the standard booster one , I’m in the group that falls into the immunosuppressant category but I’ve still not heard anything, my gp doesn’t seem to know anything other than the booster programme will be starting soon, but according to JCVI people in this

I’m new here
I’ve read lots about the immunosuppressed receiving a additional Covid jab in the UK but my GP says that they are not yet available. Has anyone had the third jab yet?

3rd covid jab for immunosuppressed (England)
Hi all I had my 3rd covid jab today after being called by GP yesterday so the top ups are now happening. The criteria is fairly narrow but can be found on the JCVI recommendations - I'll try and find the link. The surgery was keen to stress that the immunosuppressed need a three dose regime and I will

Supplements during Covid
Its concerning since
immunosuppressants
are doing the opposite. I think 🤔 I know of people loading up on zinc, vitamin C & D, etc. I'm just on my regular multivitamin and calcium. Think I'm having an attack of FOMO (FEAR OF MISSING OUT) Thanks guys 😘😘

Is weight loss possible post transplant while on immunosuppressants?
I have read that
immunosuppressants
can really mess with one’s metabolism and fat burning, and being 49 and likely menopausal probably doesn’t help.

Methotrexate
I’ve been taking methotrexate since February 2020 - injected weekly 22.5mg as well as other
immunosuppressants
; Mycophenolate Motefil, Hydroxycloroquine recently replaced by Cyclosporine & prednisolone. My elbows & fingers are pretty much back to normal, my wrists have improved a lot.

Booster Vaccine
For those of you who maybe wondering about the booster vaccine, my hubby has been called up for his next Tuesday. He was to get the flu vaccine too, but that has been held up! Importantly, he does not have an MPN, but he is on immunosuppressive medications. So hopefully, we who have MPNs will be hearing

Update on Shingles Vaccination in UK
An earlier post made me check NHS Scotland about the shingles vaccination as my husband (without an MPN) is nearly 71 and hadn't been offered it - apparently it used to be done routinely with the flu jab when you reached 70, but last year our flu jabs weren't done by our surgery. It appears the website

Good news tonight for those of us who are on the shielding list for immunosuppression. URGENT NEW OCTAVE RESEARCH RELEASED ON ANTIBODIES AND IMMUNOSUPPRESSANT INDIVIDUALS
Research by Glasgow and Birmingham Universtiy found that 2-5 immunosuppressant adults had low or undetectable antibodies after the two vaccines. I have therefore written to the Chief Medical Officer for Wales and my local MP asking for two critical things; 1. Will the CMO now overturn his letter and

Immunosupressant Drug Side Effects?
Hi, I recently made it to the national organ list for a liver and kidney. I am on dialysis. I am interested in knowing what everyone has experienced as side effects on immunosuppressant drugs? These scare me as they could be life long? Thanks!

Reconsidering Vinpocetine - Not Feeling Well Today
So I took Vinpocetine yesterday, 2 doses of 30 mg, which put me at the high end (or over) the recommended dosing). Woke up feeling nauseous. Then I read Elliot's and Julie's warning and article https://www.verywellhealth.com/the-benefits-of-vinpocetine-89593#:~:text=Vinpocetine%20may%20slow%20blood%

Seeking person for LUPUS UK's Lupus Awareness Month radio campaign day
Hi everyone, October is coming upon us quickly and with it, our Lupus Awareness Month campaign. For most, this may be because they are on immunosuppressant treatments that

Booster shots?
Hi all, I’m curious on the consensus regarding a third booster shot given the recent recommendation for the immunosuppressed. Does ET treated with the max interferon dose count, do you think? I am thinking that it is better to err on the side of caution and get one. I would love to hear of any recommendations

Another guide to likely antibody ranges post Covid vaccine
Here are some alternative antibody range results, albeit from a private testing company, but covering a lot of patients, and helpfully distinguishing between immunosuppressed or not immunosuppressed, AstraZeneca or Pfizer, and one vaccine or two. Again my figure is 16.4 U/mL versus my husband Martin
