Ibuprofen

It’s arrived with considerable pain ( like really severe toothache up left hand side of neck into head and shoulder blade and down arm) ibuprofen and paracetamol don’t touch the pain and I can’t take codeine ( it’s a histamine liberator) wondering if a nerve blocker like Pregabalin might help short

I think it’s time for a dr trip to see if I can have my pain medication upped as I’m massively relying on co codmol ans ibuprofen gel and it’s not doing anything, hence why I’m awake writing this because I’m in too much pain to sleep. Any one else feel like there annoying there GP? Because I do!

I do the Parrotsatethemall and Ibuprofen thing but still in pain. I did a 2500 step walk the other day and it was awful with my legs, calves, hands and hips really giving me some grief. I am thinking of chasing for Methotrexate now or anything else you lovely folks have taken that works......

He takes Oxycodone and ibuprofen for pain (but the ibuprofen seems to be hurting this stomach lately). We're looking into euthanasia (no rush but best be prepared).

So I thought ‘why not take an ibuprofen’, which I did, and my allergy symptoms appear to have receded somewhat.

I've also googled it and it does say you should not take tumeric with aspirin, ibuprofen etc. I am now totally confused with this information. Does anyone have anything to offer who may be able to advise one way or the other on this please. I would be most grateful. Many thanks.

Can one take ibuprofen and excedrin and others without triggering AF? Thanks.

If I'm desperate ill take ibuprofen and paracetamol. Proper hefty painkillers didn't work for me and only made me feel terrible (Amitriptyline/Diazipam/Nefopam/Naproxen and more.) I want to cure the source not cover it up, I'm so sad that I'll have this feeling on my left side forever...

I'm thinking it had to be the nitrous oxide and/or the heavy doses of antibiotics, and the after pain med ibuprofen 800 she prescribed.

Was put on Naproxen and Ibuprofen gel and briefly (about 10 days) Baclofen 10 mg. I was already on Lansoprazole 15mg since Aug23, just before going on Pred 15mg for PMR. I have gradually tapered down and yesterday started on 6.5mg.

GP insists it is OA and suggests ibuprofen or paracetamol orally for pain. Wants me off steroids sharpish. What do others think? Is knee and hand pain usual in PMR?

My belly button is so raw and on fire nothing is helping atm I'm wondering if anyone else suffers with umbilical endometriosis and has found anything that helps 😭 I use warm compress, keep it clean and have tried painkillers paracetamol and ibuprofen but nothing is touching it this time round

I have heart failure and CKD, so can’t take Ibuprofen. At the moment I’m on dihydrocodiene and paracetamol which I know is strong but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to work. I find I can’t stand up for more than ten minutes without sitting down.

If I take some ibuprofen and rest for a couple of days the pain subsides but when I run again it returns. I believe that I may have shin splints. can someone please give me some advice on how to overcome this condition as I would like to continue my running. TIA

The only thing I can think that I changed on Wednesday (ie. the day before) is that I took 2 doses of ibuprofen. I haven’t taken ibuprofen since last summer, but I haven’t previously had a reaction.

I can't take Ibuprofen due to Kidney Disease. I am a reasonably fit 76 year old , play golf 2-3 times a week, don't smoke, little alcohol. My first episode with chest pains came on suddenly out of the blue in December 2023, phoned 111 and was told to go straight to A & E.

., ibuprofen gel and Zapain were needed to get some relief. Also pain at front of ankle that I have to treat the same way.. This morning my feet and shins feel very sore.

Ibuprofen is the only thing that seems to help the stiffness. I take it with food, but I worry about taking it around the clock. I was also reading about low-histamine diets so thought I could give that a try. No harm in it, at least. But the main thing I am wondering is exercise and walking.

Everything I read says don't take ibuprofen or naproxen if you have high blood pressure and that these NSAI's reduce the effectiveness of Ramipril. Problem is that at the moment if I don't take an anti inflammatory I can hardly move so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place!

None of these aches and pains impinge on range of motion but without ibuprofen. walking is a challenge. Pain in butt increasingly worse. Also have periodic lower lip and jaw numbness. Saw doc yesterday. Sed rate in 50s, up from 30s.
