Hi, I currently have high blood pressure and I'm taking Ramipril but I'm also having a flare which is playing havoc with my joints. Everything I read says don't take ibuprofen or naproxen if you have high blood pressure and that these NSAI's reduce the effectiveness of Ramipril. Problem is that at the moment if I don't take an anti inflammatory I can hardly move so I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place! Does anyone have any suggestions?

High Blood Pressure and Lupus
I haven't been diagnosed with lupus but I have a lot of the symptoms. I too, take Ramipril (5 mg) .
I can't do without Ibuprofen. Without it, I can barely move, so my blood pressure comes second in the choice between high BP or painful joints. I've been taking both for years, with no ill effects.
I'm unable to take ibuprofen too. I use Weleda Massage Balm with arnica. It's homeopathic and although it's a bit pricey a little goes a long way. It's very soothing. It's an oil though so it can get a bit messy. I'll attach a pic. If I'm unable to use the oil I also go for Biofreeze gel..I get the roll on one so it's easier to apply for when I need night time application and I'm half asleep! 😹The Biofreeze makes the area go cold but then it soon warms up to your body temperature. Orally I take paracetamol and I'm prescribed Tramadol as needed for pain when paracetamol doesn't have an effect on my symptoms.
I have high BP too..I take Amlodipine 💜🦋xx
