Another day, another referral
Hi All, been keeping abreast of all that's happening here but not posted for a while so thought I'd post a quick update. Well I can't say I'm not getting my money's worth out of the NHS (with the exception of course of the rheumy team whose cavalier treatment has been well ranted about previously). Been

Never ends :(
Hypnotherapy
and CBT do nothing. I even broke down in tears recently and still got symptoms the next day when.I thought I felt better. It can't possibly all be anxiety can it? Even drinking water triggers everything. :(

My life without fags!
Ive tried everything from patches to
hypnotherapy
to acupuncture to champix. Until today I thought I was totally helpless and quite possibly condemmed to a life of smoking and more than likely a life cut short.

Are my anxiety symptoms normal?
I got my first anxiety attack 3 weeks ago and went quickly to the doctors for tablets and am also going to
hypnotherapy
sessions. I'm having a bad day today, my heart is pounding, and I when an attack comes on I get horrible uncontrollable shakes and my chest gets very tight.

HYPNOTHERAPY
Yesterday I had the first session of
hypnotherapy
, I was a little apprehensive when I first arrived, but was soon put at ease. He talked through my history and the things that were giving me problems, he then explained what was happening in my mind and how he thought he could help.

Hi, I'm in Ramsey near Huntingdon, I was dx'd with fibro after more than 30 years of seeing every specialist in this country and some in America too - worryingly, the dx was made within minutes by a rheumatologist at Hinch, then again (when Hinch didn't folllow up) by another rheumy at Addenbrookes

Finally went for pain rehab clinic assessment
The one the dr told me would cure all my symptoms if I wanted it enough. The physio was astounded. She said when fibro had become as advanced as mine they aim to stop it getting worse but can't get rid of all of my symptoms. She said I may need to be see in the pain clinic for a review of my pain meds

As the link mentions 'Pain clinics vary but usually offer a variety of treatments aimed at relieving long term pain, such as painkilling drugs; injections;
hypnotherapy

Nicotine Addiction ! Interesting article on why it is hard to stop AND why its worth it .
Nicotine tricks your brain by stimulating the reward pathways with a shot of dopamine, the hormone that tells us that things like food and sex are pleasurable. It also increases activity in the cholinergic pathways of the brain. These pathways are concentrated in the brain stem and are believed to be

VETS
Was listening to one of our local vets on the radio. They are very aware of pain and management. They appreciate trigger pain and prescribe all sorts of treatmets for the animal, including hydrotherapy. They also give glucosamine for joint pain, and because they can see an improvement in an animal, it
