High level of uric acid
I had a telephone consultation with my GP yesterday following my haematology visit in July which has shown up high levels of uric acid. The figure I was given was 444 with the normal figure being around 140. Slightly confused as when I have Dr Googled numbers they seem to be described in the 10s not

Hydroxycarbamide and Allopurinol
I collected my first Hydroxycarbamide prescription yesterday from the hospital pharmacy. I was also given another drug called Allopurinol. I wasn't told that I would have to take this in addition to the Hydroxycarbamide. Does anyone know if this is always given with Hydroxy? I am anxious about taking

The benefits of exercising to music
One aspect of Parkinson's is the body's desire not to move, which it achieves by reducing dopamine production and freezing, rigidity and bradykinesia. Playing loud, low, beat-y music at between 100-120 beats per minute while you exercise eliminates the freezing response and allows you to move much more

Securon?
Hi all! My cardiologist has now recommended that I come off Bisoprolol and Ivabradine and start taking Securon? I was just wondering if anyone else is taking this and if they had any issues with it making them dizzy when they first started taking it or problems with driving. Many thanks 😋

SELEGILINE 5mg
SELEGILINE 5 I was diagnosed in January, 2014 and now take Sinemet 3x a day. My neuro added Selegiline 5 mg twice a day. I have been on this schedule for 5 weeks but have not seen any changes to my condition. Has anyone else experienced this. I would be most grateful to hear your thoughts on this

Arcoxia, anyone on it?
Hi Folks, I've been here, just quiet with a few likes here and there. I have a prescription of Arcoxia coming today (probably). I searched the forum but there don't seem to be any recent posts about people using it. Some report it works well but I also note there can be troubles stopping it. Crucially

Allopurinol
When I 1st started taking ibrutinib I was prescribed 300 mg allopurinol. But as my initial cramps and aches faded after a few weeks I never took the drug as I did not want to take to many tablets. I still get periods where I get aches cramps etc but I can deal with that. I should I take the tablets

Hi everyone. I've just been diagnosed with gout four days ago. :( I've been having a weeks holiday from work this week and on the Monday I woke up with the classic gout symptoms but didn't know what it was at the time, just thought I'd twisted or hurt my big toe on my right foot. I carried on as normal

Resistance training does help
Hi Folks. Many of you know that I have posted before about the huge benefits of weight-training. Herewith is a picture of a friend of mine with her trophy in a bikini class competition. Dani wants her pics to help and inspire others. She is in her 40s and was diagnosed with RA in 1991. I won't bore
