Catheter care
Bruce went to his doctor today for a check up on the new catheter. Prior to this catheter, the doctor had ordered an intermittent or what I hear the nurses call, ""straight cath" It is not left in and the doctor feels that bacteria has less of a chance to colonize....I just read a paper that states

Assaulted
After my TBI DEC 6th 2014 I am just about dealing with all the complication relating to a head injury when on Tuesday at my mothers funeral my brothers girl friend decided she did not like to and assaulted me. I did not know this person or had not spoken to her. She pulled me around so violently that

Fear of rejection
Hi everyone! So, I haven't been on this site for what feels like a while. I stumbled across this site some months ago when I was in a dark place and googling "lack of motivation" (haha) and it was just what I needed. A kind, supportive community of people who got it. Thanks to everyone who left supportive

Nottingham based members
Are there any Nottinghamshire based members who had a head trauma in the past/recently? If so I would like to connect and meet for a cuppa tea in town and share our stories. Personally I feel like talking to people about my bus accident would help me cope easier with some of the symptoms I am experiencing

Home Lifts - advice needed!
Hi - I hope the collective hive mind might be able to help me? My father was diagnosed with PSP two years ago, and has probably suffered from it for the last 5ish years or so - although we're told that he's been diagnosed at an early stage, which is something. It's being managed through a combination

Hello everyone. Hope I'm doing this right...
Hi all. I've resisted this forum since I didn't feel I belonged: my head injury wasn't life and death - it was a concussion. However, a year on and I'm still struggling badly so here I am. I hope that by reading about the experiences of others, I may pick up some tips. I could desperately do with some

fall
In this study, we will determine whether treatment with L- Dihydroxyphenylserine (L-DOPS, Northera) in addition to dopaminergic drugs will improve postural stability and activity of daily living, and reduce fall risk and/or severity of falls in PD patients.Falls, early in PD (within 5 years of diagnosis

Had an early private scan not sure what to think?!! So worried?! Could this be another mmc? :-(
Had an early scan the details is listed below... Questions? Is that a normal size for the gestational sac? The yolk sac was seen is this good or bad? There was no fetal pole "due to a empty bladder" however, I don't think their equipment was very good as I drunk plenty but threw it all up. Is this normal

Hello all...
I hope everyone is coping ok, or as best as they can. Sorry I haven't posted here since very early after my fall and injury. I have come a long way since then when it happened in July last year, but it's always there to remind me. Being back full time at work certainly gets far too much, so it's great

Anxiety Attack
I sometimes experience 4 to 5 episodes usually at night or early morning where I am covered with a goosebump condition that is both hot and cold with shivers and lasts 5 to 10 seconds. Very annoying and upsetting but always subsides. The attack is always predictable.

36 yr old First Time Mommy :-)
I've recently lost my best friend, a person I so admired and deeply loved. I saw them get eaten away with that ugly a hateful terminal disease called cancer. They cried out loud because of pain and for help while I tried everything to save thier life. I prayed out loud, in my head, in the kitchen, while
