SULPHONYLUREA AND METFORMIN
What exactly are the differences between these two forms of medication - their action on the body, effects etc.? I had been on metformin for several years to control my type 2 diabetes. About 2 years ago the doctor asked me to switch to Dibizide M 1/2 - 0 - 1/2 and metformin (250) 0 - 1 - 0. Since taking

My Lab Reports for Today
I would like to share with you my lab report today after my last blood test in 19/10/16. I have been on this forum for 4 months with my initial concerns of my elevated lipid profiles especially LDL (3.9 mmol/L) and slightly increased HbA1C (6.3%). Following many advice in my first post, I decide to follow

Joint dislocations
Does anyone else have trouble with finger /hand or toe/foot bone dislocations or subluxations? I keep getting a dislocation of a couple of metatarsals. Just got back from a GP apt (not my own named GP), who agreed it looked as if it had dislocated again and just says wear supportive shoes for a few weeks

Daliresp
Does anyone in this group use Daliresp (or roflumilast)? If so, what side effects have you experienced and do you feel it has helped ward off flare-ups? Just prescribed this and concerned about the long list of side effects, even tho I know that all possibilities, even remote, are listed. Also why

'Huge advance' in fighting world's biggest killer
Is hypocholesterolaemia the goal? Looks like it is (see last sentence of my quoted piece). I wonder what Malcolm Kendrick's view will be? Could it ever be sensible to prescribe any form of cholesterol-lowering agent without first having properly investigated the possibility of a thyroid disorder?

The reason for cholesterol increase in hypothyroidism
I heard one finnish functional doctor talk about this and googled a bit. http://www.cpmedical.net/newsletter/is-hypothyroidism-causing-your-patients-hyperlipidemia "A consequence of hypothyroidism is a slowing of the body's ability to process cholesterol. This processing lag is largely explained by

Can Hypo CAUSE problems with Blood pressure over time ? I've read it can - even NHS website says it can cause secondary hypertension ... I've been on 50mg of Levo for 6 years and just had a shocking high blood pressure result ( 180 / 105 - been put on immediate meds ...) Any input appreciated ..

Endoscopy AGAIN
So tomorrow I have another endoscopy, this is my 3rd in 8 weeks, I don't think there will be any banding this time, I don't feel like there will be anyway. I do however have 'Portal Gastropathy' this means that I have snake like skin in my stomach. It's a common cause of Cirrhosis of the Liver and Portal
