We are new to this site and hope to find some answers thru researching. My husband was diagnosed in 2010 after extensive testing.
Heparin
was the culprit. It presents itself as mimicking Leukemia. That's when I His WIFE decided it was time to take control. He has 9 specialists that are actively dealing with him.

When there is a real question of whether to proceed to warfarin, it has been my practice to try a ‘
Heparin
trial’. This is a 2 to 3 week trial of (low molecular weight)
heparin
such as Clexane or Fragmin (I usually use subcutaneous ‘Fragmin’ 5,000 – 10,000 units daily).

Established Diagnosis of Myelofibrosis
The large hematoma (thanks to a very poor nurse, and the fact Wales NHS does not license injecting
heparin
anywhere other than the abdomen!!) in her abdomen wall is slowly dissipating. White and red cells all seem either normal or close to it.

Which alternative to warfarine?
So he is making it clear to all concerned with my welfare, that I need
heparin
injections while they stop the warfarine prior to the ops. Also my potassium and Sodium levels are very low. He advised to stop the water pills. Mind don’t know how I will react to that.

Yes, aspirin and
heparin
have an important role, but, as in Mrs Jones case, where the danger of stroke was stalking her daily life, warfarin was the urgent treatment. Warfarin has 2 well known problems. Firstly, its media label of ‘rat poison’ doesn’t help in day-to-day clinical practice.

TSH suppressed = Blood Clots? 3 clots in 3 months after starting thyroid meds (t3/t4). What to do?
I'm currently on low-dose
heparin
for my last clot. I'll be off it in a couple of weeks, so I have to decide what to do. Stop my thyroid meds and continue with high-dose vitamin D while keeping a watchful eye via further lab work? Or try to find a threshold dose? Many thanks for any help offered.

For those who have actually had a thrombosis, the choice is between
heparin
and warfarin.
Heparin
is a very useful anticoagulant but unfortunately is only available as an injection, and cannot be given long-term because of an increased risk of osteoporosis.

Post ablation
I’m on
Heparin
drip overnight. Resting HR is currently sitting at 75. I had a few palpitations earlier and had a little tachy run up to 115. Looking forward to many years in NSR after my heart has healed.

Anyone think this is peripheral neuropathy?
Hello 😊 I had a heart attack last year and a dvt when on
heparin
during pregnancy. I've been on rivaroxaban and clopidogrel since but have started around 6 months ago getting severe pain in certain finger tips and toes to the point where my finger tips are discolouring and going purple.

Ssssh! Don't say anything but I've been referred for a hearing test at a local Specsavers. It's on 12th November and I'm already getting really excited. I've got everything crossed that I'll get some tinnitus masking hearing aids and get some relief from the constant noises in my head. Maybe even be

Different hearing aids
Morning All. I have had T for quite a while now and I am noticing that my family are getting annoyed with me because I can't hear and they are getting bored repeating most things. So today I will be calling the doctor for a hearing test to get some help. Because I have short hair my wife has said not

Tinnitus driving me mad, wake every morning pulsating in 1 ear.
I woke 1 morning with a pulsating noise, 18 months ago now, had an MRI scan and a hearing test at my GP which was all fine. I have tried some anti depressant medication which didn't help. I find myself which headaches, stiff neck, vision blurred on occasions when driving. Sometimes I get a sharp pain

Metaject - disposal on holiday?
I’ve preciously travelled with
heparin
injections but each had its own safe case so it wasn’t an issue. I will need to use two metaject pens while away

Looking for an alternative hematology specialist.
But to shorten it quickly this hematologist stopped the
heparin
and replaced it with aspirin, since when she had a bleed into the digestive tract. After visit to A&E and five units of blood her portal vein became thrombotic.

Lovenox or Coumadin?? Please help
They cannot do anything surgically and has been on a
heparin
drip since Saturday. The hospital is asking him to make a decision today on Lovenox, Coumadin or Warfarin. My research suggests Lovenox is best for cancer and it treats the clot still.
