Any advice on how to gain weight after heart surgery
Almost 6 weeks post surgery and still not gaining weight. Around 63kg and 177cm tall. It is really getting me down. I eat alot but just not making any difference on the scales. Any ideas?

Helping a parent through post op recovery
Hi, 1st post. As I travel home from London St Thomas's I reach out to anyone with advice as to how to best support and help my mum. We are four days into double heart bypass surgery and the sadness and anxiety about what lay ahead as well and truly kicked in (along with the AF)!!! I rack my brain

Skin still covering head of penis after circumcision
I am 30 years old. I am 7 days post circumcision due to phimosis. After 7 days, skin from the shaft of my penis is still covering about half of the head, I can’t see most of the stitches and there appears to be a pretty large hematoma on the bottom side of penis near the incision site. Anyone have any

health
, the sooner you get things checked out the better. So thanks to the people that post here, it's a great source of information and support for everybody that's effected by heart disease.

Still breathless after 3 years of open heart surgery
end of 2019 I had open heart surgery to repair my mitral valve, close small hole and do ablation for fibrillation. Not getting proper aftercare or physio after the operation, I had to rely on an app for all that , due to the covid situation. I did my best and after we got back to proper cardio exercise

lemon sole with a chive sauce .
pan fried the fish two minutes each side in a little olive oil . Nice with a chive sauce over , used sour cream and a Dijon mustard (1/2 tsp) plus chives . No bones in the fish at M&S . My main meal today at 1330 . Is it better to have a smaller meal at 1730 than lunchtime to lose weight ? Thanks

Keeping on top of your heart health exercising with other heart patients! 😊
Been a wee while since I was on here. Hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to share this in case anyone is looking to link up with other heart patients for some regular exercise in London. I’ve been running this little group in my spare time for some time now and just wanted to let others know in

Good News Today
I just left my EPS office with good news. I actually thought I was having problems with my new pacemaker but the office it is true. Dr Saini kept raising my ECG print out telling me how wonderful it is and my echo was the same. For all purposes, my heart on there looks the same as anyone with a normal

BP Home Machines
Hi, I know that home blood pressure machines are inaccurate when measuring whilst in arrhythmia, but does that just refer to the heart rate and not the actual BP? Thanks

Heart feels tired. Ramipril increase
Hi all Just thought I would ask..... About 5 weeks ago I noticed (particularly after eating) my heart feeling 'sluggish'. What I call 'mud for blood' - I used to get it often when I came out from open heart surgery in 2017, (two patches and a stent fitted). However it faded away over the course of a

Dehydration.
I am on Bumetanide twice daily for mild heart failure. We all know what it does but in this weather we are encouraged not to become dehydrated. I am drinking loads of fluids but should I expect more or less loo trips under these circumstances. Still no rain here.
