I just left my EPS office with good news. I actually thought I was having problems with my new pacemaker but the office it is true. Dr Saini kept raising my ECG print out telling me how wonderful it is and my echo was the same. For all purposes, my heart on there looks the same as anyone with a normal good heart. He mentioned where he presented my case to a few groups and how they all want to learn so they can do the same, and again he held up my ECG. I knew he had been invited to Dallas to teach the group of EPS up there. Evidently you know there are others looking for him to teach. He said he can see I’m not 100% but perhaps my doctor needs to look elsewhere. Lol where to begin I’m 70. Everything is breaking down but as long as it’s not my heart and pacemaker, I think I’m very happy.
For those that didn’t know, there was no pacemaker for me until recently when it was released by the FDA. I also have heart failure, so things were not looking good. Talk about a turnaround. Today they reset my pacemaker again down to 60. They started at 80 and even that was pretty low for me considering I had been in the 150s. I don’t feel any differences nothing negative. So 60 should be my resting heart rate. That’s pretty exciting. I don’t think I had that even when I had a healthy heart.
So anyone facing a possible pace and ablate, instead of facing it with fear look at it as a life-changing event for the better. Never did. I think I would have quality of life again it has been less than three months I’m not even finished healing yet and yet my doctor, other doctors and I are amazed at what’s been done.

Such great news Dawn, you’re an inspiration. Hope you get sorted with whatever else is holding you back. Now we need magic rejuvenating treatment for the aches, pains and tiredness too! But your engine is sorted now and firing on all cylinders!
I’m sorry that you’re still feeling under par but that’s excellent news about your pacemaker! What a result and a turnaround! As you say, it hasn’t been three months yet and your body must have taken a bit of a beating when your heart rate was so high for that length of time, so there’s still healing to be done.
To go from having a heart rate in the 150s to a resting rate of 60 is just incredible isn’t it! Many congratulations to you on such a fantastic result!
Megan’s thank you this is why I share because every day someone is going for a pace and ablate and I know how I felt about it. I wish I could share what my doctor looks like when he’s talking to me about this. It makes me feel so good because he is so passionate about helping us and that smile today proved to me. It wasn’t just words. I actually got some sleep and one of the last things he said, as I was leaving was stop worrying about your heart. he reminded me how stress can make us feel so much worse and cause so many problems. Mind-body connection is a very important thing. It’s nice I see many people hair that practice meditation. Hang in there when it’s your time reach out to me I will remind you how good it’s gonna be.
