Cholesterol
I requested a diabetes blood test at my local surgery on Monday, received telephone call Tuesday, to arrange an appointment with my gp, regarding cholesterol. My question is should I take statins if offered? And is it possible to reverse high cholesterol?Im taking 75/100 mcg teva levothyroxine alternate

Euthyroid Sick Syndrome
Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with Euthyroid Sick Syndrome or thinks they may have it? I am now beginning to think that my problems are due to this and not Hypothyroidism. Am thinking of getting a reverse T3 test but it's quite expensive. This cannot be treated with meds so

Triglycerides
I’m very pleased to say my total cholesterol has gone from 6.4 to 4.6 from March this year to August. I worked hard with diet mainly and exercise. However my triglycerides weren’t included in this blood test. Has anyone found that due to their thyroid problems that their triglycerides are raised?

Statins & Steroids
I’ve been advised to take statins due to high
cholesterol
levels of 7.0, Serum triglycerides 2.3,
HDL
2.5, HDL ratio 2.8, LDL 3.4, non HDL 4.5. I’m reluctant to take more meds but I’m unclear of the meaning of all the results and if I should take statins or not.

Appt at Lipids Clinic and discussion about thyroid levels
So I had an appointment this morning at the Lipids Clinic, referred by GP, as total cholesterol was 8.7, when annual thyroid bloods taken earlier this year. I said to GP that I didn’t want to automatically go onto statins because of counter-indications and that I thought perhaps I should increase

Cholesterol best values, latest scientific studies
I have total
cholesterol
at 250,
HDl
at 60 and LDl at 190, triglycerides at 100, (values corresponding to Spain). The latest scientific studies say that I have very good values to live many years but the doctors say that I am very bad and I have to take statins.

I know I'm slow but...
Well, I've completed Week 1 of the NRC 10K plan as helpfully posted by CDBD. Was surprised when I checked the stats for the Next Speed Run. My pace for the first interval at 5K pace was 11.26 minutes per K, which was much slower than even my warm up pace and I certainly thought I was putting in more

Inflammation is the real problem and increased cholesterol the solution. So why has cholesterol got such a bad rap?
Two good, short articles that sum up what I've been trying to say for ages:
