Cholesterol best values, latest scientific studies

Good morning . I am not a doctor or scientist but I am very curious and I like to learn new things. I have total cholesterol at 250, HDl at 60 and LDl at 190, triglycerides at 100, (values corresponding to Spain). The latest scientific studies say that I have very good values to live many years but the doctors say that I am very bad and I have to take statins. Science has evolved a lot and doctors have been left behind? . I hope someone with more knowledge explains it. Thank you.

postscript: video explaining a 22-year follow-up study of thousands of patients in relation to cardiovascular disease in Pennsylvania, published in March 2024. youtube.com/watch?v=4nm-xIq...

the units of measurement that you use are not familiar to us in the UK, so I can’t tell whether they are good or bad.

But studies seem to think that taking statins can, statistically, help to prevent early deaths from cardiovascular disease.

The values do seem a bit on the high side. Where did you read that these are good values?

Here > bmjopen.bmj.com/content/14/.... Two other studies reach this conclusion, one that follows the evolution of 12,800,000 patients for 12 years, I believe, (Total cholesterol and all-cause mortality by sex and age: a prospective cohort study among 12.8 million adults > nature.com/articles/s41598-... ). They say that the best total cholesterol values to live longer are between 190 and 250. I'm not saying this and they are not studies with rats or anything like that, they are patient follow-ups for many years (they are not paid for by any pharmacological company).

That's why I say that I would like someone who has knowledge of these issues to explain this to us.
