It's interesting that phytosterols not only competes with cholesterol for gut absorption but looks and acts like it.

Cholesterol is so important. Mine is always a little high but I refuse to take stains. Perhaps I should try some phytosterols. What brand are you taking?

I don't - I get them from my diet - I am fortunate in the I grow things like oranges, pomegranates, celery, onions, mandarins, tangerines, clementines, lemons, romaine lettuce, so very local and organic!

Keep resisting the statins - if you need to raise HDL in relation to LDL then a shift in diet should be helpful, If your triglycerides are high then generally speaking a reduction in sugar and quick release carbs should be beneficial.
