Seeking help for treating infrequent but devastating Brainstem/Hemiplegic/Vestibular migraine symptoms
Hello, I am new here and looking to speak with anyone that has experienced Basilar (Brainstem) Migraines combined with Hemiplegic or Vestibular Migraines. I'd love to get your take on how best to seek treatment as my episodes are infrequent but devastating--as in temporarily locked-in. I'm still recovering

Flogging a dead horse... when will they admit defeat?
A really crappy Easter weekend... now feeling really frustrated (and very teary!). I’m fed up of being ignored by docs (and ashamed for feeling that way cause I know I was due a ‘bad’ admission so I feel guilty for feeling so upset). To sum it up, I ended up in a&e last Thursday (17 days after my last

What is DF?
Hi all, can anyone tell me what DF is please. It was mentioned in a recent post. I have had PMR/GCA for twelve years now, been up and down on pred all this time. Now down to 8 mg. When I was given Hydrocortisone for my PMR to get me off pred a few years back, it did not work for me at all. Then when

Adrenal insufficiency
Yesterday I received the worrying news that, after a blood test taken by the rheumatology pharmacist he finds my score is 61. 100-400 is considered abnormally low. So now for a syancthin (spelling?) test. I have been on pred for 7/8 years & down to 2.5mg but I asked the Rheumy if I could have a test

Cramps with Ibrutinib
I have just finished my third month on Ibrutinib and have started suffering cramps in hands, arms and legs. Is this now to be a regular side effect.? Also I get intermittent itchy spots on my upper body which are controlled by Fucibet ointment.

Red scaly patch on my face. What is it ?
Hi , I've had this on my face since January. Firstly I went to a pharmacy and they said it's a cold sore and gave me zovirax and Aciclovir. 2-3 weeks later I went to the walk in clinic and I've been told is eczema and was given eumovate Then another 2-3 weeks later I went to a private dermatologist and

Long Term Balanitis
A few months ago, I was put onto an antibiotic(doxycycline) for my acne by my dermatologist. While on it I noticed changes in my penis such as tender/sore foreskin, redness and raised bumps all over the glans and splotches of very red areas on the top of my penis shaft(still covered by my foreskin) that

I found a complete cure for RLS
I’ve suffered RLS many years, the only thing that worked was strong analgesics which gave me bad side effects. I’ve tried many many cures and nothing seems to work but I found this by trail and error. It works 100% for me and NO PILLS ! I took some menthol crystals and ground them into very fine powder

Hydrocortisone not helping, please help
Last week I was finally prescribed HC by a dr in Belgium and I thought it was the answer to my prayers as my cortisol saliva results are pretty bad and I was feeling really badly ( no thyroid meds yet). I have taken the hc for 5 days now and the first 2 days were good, but now it's just making me ill

Best laid plans ...
Well today was a first. The plan was to repeat last weeks 8k but my body decided otherwise! Got to just past half way and legs just didn’t want to go. Felt like jelly 😕. Finished the 8k in a combo of walk and jog instead. Not really sure why. I did have a disturbed night sleep due to the smoke alarm

Balancing T3 over the day (aka fast heartrate at 2am, aka T3 suppressing T4 to T3 conversion?)
Hello thyroid gurus, My father gets a rapid heartbeat at night for years now. His pulse gradually increases starting around 7pm each night, from a good resting rate of ~65 bpm up to 90-120bpm around 2am, even when he is just lying in bed. He can't sleep, and if he does, he huffs & puffs so his breathing

Hydrocortisone ingredients
I'm looking to use hydrocortisone tablets for adrenals but every brand I see has either lactose or corn flour/starch in them. Are there any without either of these? Thanks

Breaking out/swelling around eye area past 2 years. No diagnosis, nothing helps!
So I never had any allergy/skin issues until a little over 2 years ago. It started with a rash/swelling/itching on both upper eyelids. I’ve been to an allergist, a dermatologist, and a regular physician and none of them could give me any information. They all basically said “It could be from anything

Eczema treatment - no cost except for kiwi fruit
If you are suffering from eczema you may be interested in my experience with treating the condition. There is no cost involved, the kiwi fruit can be purchased locally in the supermarket, and I have used it successfully. As a bonus the kiwi fruit is loaded with vitamin c, so the cost will not be wasted

Hydrocortisone, please help
I am in a really bad place, undiagnosed because of "normal" blood tests, but I suspect severe hypo because of low pulse and very low body temperature. Low cortisol ( I have done the 24 h saliva test). I have an appointment with a doctor in Belgium soon, but I am getting worse every day with dizziness

Upcoming blood test
Hey, just after some advice about my upcoming blood test please. Do I withhold my meds beforehand, then take them after 9am blood draw. New endo says don't withhold, take as normal. But I've read that isn't the correct way, and won't give accurate results. Tests are for levothyroxine, growth hormone

Infected finger
Hi there, I know this isn’t about IBS. But I just wanted to ask about an infected finger that I have. I have been soaking the finger in salt solution twice a day and applying antiseptic cream over the wound and then covering with a plaster to protect it. Does anyone know how long it will take for the
