I know this isn’t about IBS. But I just wanted to ask about an infected finger that I have. I have been soaking the finger in salt solution twice a day and applying antiseptic cream over the wound and then covering with a plaster to protect it. Does anyone know how long it will take for the infection to disappear using antiseptic cream/plasters ( in days ). Without using antibiotics prescribed by the doctor if necessary.
Also if there are any symptoms related to an infected finger that can affect the body e.g-nausea.
Thanks for the help! 👍🏻

Please be careful with this. If it gets worse or you start to feel unwell get some medical attention asap. You might like to try old fashioned iodine, either as an iodine dressing or as liquid iodine. (This stains) You should be able to get these at the pharmacy. Also, the pharmacist will have a look at your wound and advise you. When I had a small puncture wound that got infected recently, an iodine dressing sorted it out pretty quickly.
My daughter had an infection on her finger & we cut a leaf from our aloe Vera plant & taped it to the wound overnight & it healed really quickly! On the other hand 😂, a friend of mine had an infection in a finger & ended up in hospital having an operation to clean out the infection!! My advice to you is don’t let it drag on. Try the iodine as suggested previously or the aloe Vera plant & if it doesn’t heal very quickly then go to you gp!!
My son and partner had infected fingers which required antibiotics as it bacterial it can get serious if u leave it so really would suggest checking it out with your gp x
