Blood test results
Just had my yearly check up with full blood tests. I can access the results but will also be seeing my GP face to face (!) next week as this is part of the check up. Can you tell me what these two results mean, please? Serum Creactive protein level 7.8mg/L (normal below 5) and Mean corpus haemoglobin

Eustachian tube dysfunction is it possible this is connected to b12 deficiency?
My partner has has b12 deficiency symptoms for years, only recently diagnosed. He gets a fullness in his ears, he cant pop them even with all methods ENT teach you. I was just wondering if anyone else had had these problems. Initially we thought his off balance feeling when walking was caused by this

Beta blockers
I'm 68, female with NASH/ Cirrhosis which is compensated. I have recently been prescribed 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol Fumarate (beta blocker) but I'm so anxious about taking it as my GP seemed unsure about any effect on my liver. I was wondering if any members take beta blockers with no ill effects? I'm also

Frequency of B12 injections
I have just been for my usual injection after 10 weeks and 2 days and it has been refused because it's not 12 weeks since the last one.I have had injections every 10 weeks for 18 years since I was diagnosed with pernicious anaemia. I was told at the start the injections were due every 10 to 12 weeks

Possible dangers of too much iron.
Iron supplementation is often advised on this forum. This article points up new research on the effect of iron on Alzheimer's. I would appreciate anyone with medical knowledge running their eye over this in case of any relevance to RLS. They do mention MS, which can be associated with RLS. Lhlklttps

Iron infusion flopped
Iron infusion flopped After my second iron infusion my serum ferritin catapulted from 55 to 588! Unfortunately, it did not stop the “bleed through”. Horizant, which is supposed to last 24 hours only controls my RLS for about 16 to 18 hours and then I get symptom bleed through. I was hoping that at

Problems with medication supplies
Hi. Since I recently swapped to home deliveries for medication, every 4 weeks some meds are missing or out of stock.I didn't have this problem when I ordered directly from the GP, changed over because I was struggling to get into town to collect my prescriptions. The messages from Lloyds Pharmacy says

Heme vs Non-Heme Iron Supplements
Since being diagnosed with low ferritin three months ago, I've been on ferrous sulfate tablets (1 - 65mg along with 500 mg vitamin C twice a day with meals). It's been working fine (went from 11 to 45 in a month) without any side effects. However, early on, I purchased a bottle of Three Arrows Heme after

GP wont prescribe Hydroxycobalamin until further blood tests conducted despite neuro involvement.
Good morning.I've found this forum out of desperation having experienced what I now know are symptoms of B12 deficiency for a few years. After repeated B12 levels over the years which consistently showed my levels dropping (treatable since 2021 in some parts of the country) they were finally low enough

Low ferritin, high iron
I recently got a bunch of lab tests done by a functional medicine doctor. I thought I had too much iron. My UIBC was lab low at 91(range 131-425), my iron was lab high at 204(range 27-159), and iron saturation was lab high at 69%(range 15-55%).But ferritin was somewhat low, though not lab low. It was

What level is normal after B12 injections
First post after being diagnosed with very low B12 (67). I am in the UK and had the course of six injections within two weeks 12 weeks ago. My level of B12 has just been tested and is 360 but I have no idea whether this would be normal at this stage? I am debating whether to have another injection or

Mayo Clinic studies B12 def, are very interesting!!
Check these studies out! I printed a few copies for my medical practice Abstract Although cobalamin (vitamin B12) deficiency was described over a century ago, it is still difficult to establish the correct diagnosis and prescribe the right treatment. Symptoms related to vitamin B12 deficiency may

8 week bloodtest
Hi all, I've been on a reduced levothyroxine dose of 125mcg for the last 8 weeks and i stopped taking the iron tablets as my stomach was too painful, so for the past 7 weeks i've been using an iron patch. My dr agreed to retest my iron as i didn't want to be wasting my time and money if the patches

How much folic acid while on ED injections?
I inject b12 daily or at least every other day for over two years now. I'm lots better by now but have still slight polyneuropathy left. During this time I've experimented with different dosages of folic acid (as well as with methyl folate and folinic acid) but I'm still not sure what works best for

Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with Euthyroid Sick Syndrome or thinks they may have it? I am now beginning to think that my problems are due to this and not Hypothyroidism. Am thinking of getting a reverse T3 test but it's quite expensive. This cannot be treated with meds so
