Thyroid and anaemia
I have just been told I have serious anaemia and will have an iron injection on Thursday. Can you tell me if there's any connection, or contraindication with my hypothyroidism? Thank you

updated iron results - best next steps?
Hey everyone, I had some great advice on here a couple of weeks ago. I just had a full blood test completed (given the RLS had gotten significantly worse recently) and my iron results came back low: Iron 14.3 umol/L (Range: 10 - 30) TIBC 54.2 umol/L (Range: 45 - 81) UIBC 39.9 umol/L (Range: 12 -

History of continued low and fluctuating iron levels - advice?
hi folks. Just had my latest bloods back from helpful GP (he’s actually happy for me to sort my thyroid with Roseway! TSH barely exists) My iron is pretty abysmal tho .. Last time i had my transferrin saturation index done it was 40% so bang on mid way. January I think it was. It’s now dropped to19%

Head problems
I posted an email a few months ago about the fact I have now received my results of various tests on my head, and Pro very kindly replied. I printed it off, but no date on it unfortunately, and I couldn't find my original post. The subject was about subluxation, and there was a lady who said she had

Neurological Signals
Now that I self treat in a way that I no longer experience symptoms associated with B12 deficiency and the resulting known damage I am finding it helpful to think in terms of neurological signals. Temperature regulation becomes I now get signals that I am cold or hot and do not expose my body to situations

Beta blockers
I'm 68, female with NASH/ Cirrhosis which is compensated. I have recently been prescribed 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol Fumarate (beta blocker) but I'm so anxious about taking it as my GP seemed unsure about any effect on my liver. I was wondering if any members take beta blockers with no ill effects? I'm also

Trials and Tribulations.
I did a trial of 1.5 mg methylcobalamin 4 times a day and that was positive. I then increased physical activity and had 3 days of a downturn and recovered. I then reduced to .75 mg with no decline. I increased physical activity for three days and had a downturn. I then added .06 mg of methylcobalamin

Iron infusion flopped
Iron infusion flopped After my second iron infusion my serum ferritin catapulted from 55 to 588! Unfortunately, it did not stop the “bleed through”. Horizant, which is supposed to last 24 hours only controls my RLS for about 16 to 18 hours and then I get symptom bleed through. I was hoping that at

Vitamin D and Iron
Hi I posted yesterday about my private thyroid results and got some really great advice. Further to that, I was wondering if anyone could help me with iron and vitamin levels. On the Thriva test, it said: Vit D: 68.4 nmol/L (range 50 - 250) Ferritin: 69.1 ug/L (range 30-150) B12: 54.8 pmol/L (range

B12 deficiency and b12 deficiency anemia
So we went to GP this evening, the antibody tests are back as negative. The GP was sat there with my complaint letter in front of her and was abit funny with us to be honest. I quoted the NICE guidelines and asked why my partner was not being treated for neurological symtoms. She informed me these are

Long time no see, a brief update from me and a daughter with a diagnosis…
Hello all! I don’t know if anyone will remember me as it’s been a few years since I last posted. I’ll try to keep my update brief (and positive) as it’s not regarding myself that I’m drawn back to this forum, although I may well start posting more about myself once I’m back into the swing of it! I expect

Heme vs Non-Heme Iron Supplements
Since being diagnosed with low ferritin three months ago, I've been on ferrous sulfate tablets (1 - 65mg along with 500 mg vitamin C twice a day with meals). It's been working fine (went from 11 to 45 in a month) without any side effects. However, early on, I purchased a bottle of Three Arrows Heme after

Further info on blood panel
Hello! I posted a couple of weeks back with some questions about low B12 investigations and was about to have a very full and detailed blood panel. I've got some further info from my blood tests. I don't have a copy yet, they're on the way, so I'll have to be vague about actual numbers for some of them

Iron blood test results are back, please could you take a look for me?
In a previous post I gave my Ferritin result from a blood test in March (this was 36.90) and I was recommended to check my other iron levels before taking iron supplements . I now have these results back and would be really grateful if you could let me know your thoughts please : Medichecks BLOOD TEST

Another! GP appt. Tips for making the best of it please?
I posted on Monday about my experience of not having my low but still apparently "normal" vit B12 etc levels not taken seriously and ignoring the fact I have a lot of symptoms of pernicious anemia (I've also posted on the PAS forum, but there are far fewer people on there). https://healthunlocked.com
