Metformin
I have just been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and have started on Metformin. Was just wondering has anyone experienced any pain in the chest, shoulders or ribs when put on this medication? I am in agony and can barely move. Thank you. Caroline

CLL and related skin conditions
I am 73 and have had CLL for the last six years. I had FCR treatment some 5 years ago and more recently a milder form of FCR to keep the CLL at bay. One of the apparent side effects from the CLL has been an increase in Keratosis and Squamus Cell Carcinoma which have been treated with liquid nitrogen

Was thinking to myself after the latest blood results. What if the Diabetes Type 2 being treated is helping my inflammatory situation. We started the Intermittent Fasting plan several months before my PMR diagnosis. We started it to address insulin resistance. OH have shown results from the regime,

High Glucose numbers whilst fasting
Hi, I am a new comer to healthUnlocked. I had diabetes for three years and I refuse to take medication. I keep my glucose numbers under control by eating less carbs, but lately my numbers are high even though I have been water fasting for over 5 days. Getting glucose numbers of 175 looking forward

Preventing diabetes and best practice for pre-diabetes. 💚
Good morning everyone, There are some simple steps we can take to avoid diabetes like stopping smoking reducing alcohol consumption coupled with a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. Just taking some simple steps like having poached eggs instead of fried eggs can reduce the saturated fat content by

More exercise can reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Hi everyone, I bet lots of people feel if only they knew now before developing type 2 diabetes that a few simple steps could literally have turned things around and prevented type2 D in the first instance. I think as well as monitoring blood glucose levels its important for diabetics to improve their

Cholesterol
I'm currently trying to lose weight and my GP has told me my cholesterol is slightly raised. I don't know the exact numbers. All the conventional wisdom is that we should eat low fat foods to lower it but they are often processed and/or full of sugar. I guess my question is, has anyone here actually

Returning newbie
Hi all I ran marathons 30 yrs ago, with good times, but a desk job, children and retirement have taken their toll. Add in sleep apnoea and weight issues with type 2 diabetes and I'm pretty knackered. But I can come back from this; just need time and a bit of motivation and application. So, more later
