Reassurance for laparoscopy excision surgery
I'm just after a bit of reassurance really. I'm under an endo specialist and I've booked in for excision surgery in August, but I so scared that they're not going to find anything. I've already been told there is an endometrioma on one of my ovaries and 'normal' cysts on the other. My ovaries however

Prednisone vs Acterma with steroid induced diabetes. Really terrified
Update: April 2024 was scheduled for eye surgery for Strabismus which was canceled days before when in the same week I was determined by my Endocrinologist to have steroid induced diabetes which makes the general anesthesia too risky at this point. Rescheduled for August tentatively while we work on

Endo help
hi all, hope you’re well. I’m definitely repeating myself here (sorry), but looking for some reassurance 💛 As a back story, I’m 36, have endometriosis and 3 x failed rounds of ivf/icsi which includes 2 x transfers (top quality) and 4 pgta tested abnormal embryos. A recent MRI also shows fibroids,

Off Topic: Elbow Surgery Waiting List
I've been on the surgery waiting list as a P3 (should be 3 months but backlogs) for 21 weeks (since 12th December) for my left elbow replacement and listed for the right elbow since 9th January. I've had no contact from the hospital, but I have checked the NHS app every few weeks which was stating May

Lots of Energy Yesterday
Yesterday, I felt like my old self and despite the heat worked in my garden for most of the day. Could have done more and my energy was almost limitless. Why was that you may ask? Well I forgot to take my beta blocker 25mg of Metoprolol that morning. My goodness who would have thought that medication

have a surgery coming up in two weeks under general anesthesia and just had some heart palpitations and went to a&e.
at emergency they told me I have a first degree heart block and also found a sinus pause of 2.5 seconds. Will I still be able to go ahead with the surgery and general anesthesia? Really scared now that I will die on the table!

Has anyone not been diagnosed after first laparoscopy but diagnosed later?
Hey everyone! 🤗 This may be a bit of a long one, so I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read it. I was wondering if anyone had endometriosis that was missed during their first laparoscopy? I've had debilitating pain on and off for almost two years. I went to the GP so many times when the pain

Interesting update for those in the UK whose GP practice has Buprenorphine red listed
Finally, after months of hitting my head against a brick wall with my GP practice, where Buprenorphine is firmly red-listed (and the partners flatly refuse to change their stance, even after being presented with all the research we know about on this site), I have been able to obtain an NHS prescription

update and advice please
First of all I want to thank the administrators and everyone who contribute to this forum. I look at it several times a week and so continue to learn about our shared condition from all the contributions. I need to take a bit of a sounding about my next steps – I think I know what I want to do, but

asking for a friend (really) oncologist referral Chicago or Mayo Rochester
I am an open book for people newly diagnosed with prostate cancer and often hear from friends of friends. Looking back on my journey, I feel that I too quickly went the surgery route after consulting with a very good urologist/surgeon/oncologist and I erred not consulting with a Medical Oncologist first

RAI failure... worse than previously.. advice please
Hi, pleased to find this forum as struggling knowing what to do next... I've had hyperthyroidism for 12 years, tested negative for graves twice, so likely TMG although consultants also think possibly graves?! Had a failed biopsy and been subclinical for a while... had RAI at the end of Jan. Now worse

Trabeculectomy tips?
Hi I was diagnosed two or three years ago just prior to my 50th birthday. Drops have been ok but left eye seems to be deteriorating quite rapidly. I am having a trabeculectomy in my left eye in a couple of weeks. I know surgery is experienced differently for everyone but wondered if anyone had any tips

Nerve damage
Hi, Has anyone experienced nerve damage as a result of endometriosis? My surgeon warned me it was a risk associated with surgery and I already had some symptoms of nerve involvement but they're worse since surgery. Is there anything that helps?
