Has anyone had surgery done at the above hospital. This is where I am being offered treatment. Thanks Tony.

Can’t answer, being an American but I am really pleased that so many across the globe are coming to this site. It gives me confidence that it is the best informed site. I much prefer it to the other site that always has an A/I algorithm answer a question first with some gobbledegook. Of course Tall Allen provides much appreciated guidance also. Along with many others

Hi Tony

Sorry had my surgery and all my ongoing treatment is down here in Sussex. Not sure how you go about ascertaining how the Royal Blackburn is rated for prostate surgery. Not sure also how they would react if you asked your consultant for a rating. Maybe there is a website somewhere out there that gives a bit more information about NHS hospitals. Bit of a minefield I guess.

Good luck Tony, hope it all goes well once you make a decision.

Brian.

Hi Tony,

Have you also looked at radiation treatment as an alternative to surgery? You should also be able to find the stats for the hospital, I did for QA in Portsmouth which showed they did a lot more radical radiotherapies than radical prostatectomies.

Cheers, Mark

Preston will be nearest for Blackburn for radiotherapy including SBRT.
