Someone suggested a
Gluten
Free
Diet
- which I have been on for several months and I do feel better (only the occasional bad day now). I then decided to get a private test done (appreciate I should have done this before) - now my T4 has jumped up to 62% of range and T3 is 4.7 (range 3.1 - 6.8).

AKI ... Contrast Induced
Good morning! Can anyone tell me how long an AKI lasts and whether, after a certain length of time, it becomes Chronic Kidney Disease!? I had a heart attack 2 months ago and required Angiography & stenting. A week or so later, it was found that I had suffered an AKI due to the contrast dye used during

I have long been a low carb dieter, and the fats I'd eatch are the healthy fats (avocados/nuts, etc) as well as the protein I'd eat are lean meats, eggs and protein shakes. I also cut down my carbs to mostly veggies and for a snack, popcorn, healthy popped/low salt/no butter. My one guilty pleasure is

Actemra and weight
I've been on Actemra for about a year. Been off it for a few weeks because of tooth extraction and rheumatologist wants me to restart. RX insert and other research says most biologics and more specifically tocilizumab (Actemra) causes weight gain. I lost significant weight while so sick with GCA even

Low ferritin low hemoglobin celiac three years ?
I began
gluten
free
diet
and iron supplements and my levels were back to normal. Dr took me off iron and I continued gluten free. Past labs have shown a steady decline in my hemoglobin and ferritin.

Celiac and Low iron levels
For the first two years after adhering to a
gluten
free
diet
and also supplementing with iron pills, my levels were pretty stable at 14. My doctor noticed that they started to decline last year to 13 and now recently to 12. I am still gluten free, but do not take iron tabs.

LCHF without dairy?
Hi there, I’m currently calorie counting which I find fits with family life because I can eat the same meals as wife and kids. Interested in exploring LCHF but I have a dairy intolerance (that’s a big part of why I dismissed it as an option months ago). Wondering if anyone does LCHF without cheese,

Staying low carb in a high carb world
I have had great success with going low carb, and sad to say I think my greatest ally in this has been coronavirus. I started December 2019, on what I first thought was going to be a diet (as in something I do for awhile and then stop) and allowed myself to break my own rules at social events. So, over

Hi everyone it's been a while since I posted in this group. Does shingles cause Hashimoto’s to flare up?
I am currently doing a dairy
free
diet
, 3 days in, on top of being
gluten
free
already to see if it helps until I see the neurologist at the end of April. Any advice would be welcomed.

Anti-inflammatory diet
I am relatively new to this site and think it is great! I read a couple of posts every day with great interest. I was diagnosed with PMR in August 2020 after a couple of months of excruciating pain in my shoulders. My GP pretty quickly suspected it and confirmed it with a short course of Pred (15 mg

Low FT3 Low FT4 with T3/4 treatment, what is going on?
- I am
gluten
and dairy
free
, and since 4 weeks am following an autoimmune
diet
- Since 16 months or so, I have started running and then daily Yoga. Running is super slow Japanese jogging, which keeps heart rate down, and advice is to run at a speed where one can still have a conversation.

Anyone celebrating Burns Night?
25th of January is a traditional feast day in Scotland (Robert Burns' birthday), celebrated with haggis, tatties and neeps. And scotch. Haggis is a meaty treat, full of organ meats, so very nutritious. It also has oatmeal, so it's surprisingly high carb, 18g/100g which is more than the tatties (potatoes

Deterioration in digestive health
I follow a strict
gluten
free
diet
. I have lost weight recently and now have a normal BMI. Always very careful. I have terrible burping, reflux, a feeling of tightness under my left ribcage. This feels like its squeezing my heart and causing very troublesome palpitations.

Latest results after feeling awful on increased levothyroxine
I’ve been cleaning up my
diet
since December and I’ve been strictly
gluten
free
since Feb. I started taking probiotics a couple of weeks ago, on the advice of my functional doctor. Tests were all done at about 9.30am after no food and only water to drink.
