Night sweats : Hello I had a liver... - British Liver Trust
Night sweats
You should get this checked out. I suffered the same night sweats together with painful cramp in my leg. I didn't do anything until one of my legs swelled to twice the size of the other. Turned out I had PTLD. At the time I was taking Tac and Azathioprine. PTLD is a rare side effect of Azathioprine. I was treated with Chemo (R-CHOP) and thankfully have been "cured" (at least I was told that no further follow up was necessary seven years later).
Hopefully there is some less serious problem for you, and I stress PTLD is a rare complication, but please do consult a doctor.
Do you have a post transplant clinic appointment coming up soon? Speak to your liver transplant coordinators and tell them about your night sweats so that you can get checked out. Chances are, hopefully, that it won't be anything too much to worry about but it is wise to be proactive in checking it out.
regards
Thanks for reply I've spoken today with one of the nurses at the QE today
Hi,I'm 3 years post TX, and I've been having those dreaded night sweats for the past couple of years. I always figured it was just one of those with being immunosuppressed. However I recently had a bad reaction to a general anaesthetic and Major day sweats with atrial fib. So now I suspect my night sweats may be night-time a-fib. Sooo you may want to rule that out for you. Good luck and BTW we'll done on 7 years.
