I don’t know I’m afraid and you may not manage to ask your Rheumy before you go to the dentist but you could try anyway. Surely you have already told your dentist all the meds you are on? If not you must tell him tomorrow before the procedure.
I hope someone else on that drug will know but you could look on the NRAS and Versus Arthritis sites to see if there’s any information there.
Thank you for replying i did mention it to the dentist but he wasn’t sure. I didn’t think to ask the rheum nurse from what i read on the internet it seems to say it will be okay. I will speak to dentist tomorrow and ask for antibiotics. It seems that you can also get into trouble by not having your teeth done !! Regards lin
It's not exactly the same but I asked my rheumy team about an extraction and taking MTX last week. I was advised that, as it suppressed the immune system, I should not take it until my mouth had healed and there is no infection. I'm hoping that your dentist is as good as mine
I stayed on my JAK inhibitor, prednisolone and leflunomide when having both of my tooth extractions and my spinal surgery. The wounds were a bit slow to heal, but I didn't have any infections.
Thank you very much for posting and to hear all was okay with you is so good. Greatly appreciated. Also what a superb website for such fast responses. Thank you. Regards Lin
I stayed on mine . Yes they do suppress your immune system but it didn’t stop me healing when I had tooth extraction.I did pass out thou but my body does act strange in situations. You will be fine
Thank you that great news (apart from passing out!! ) regards Lin
