My Mum had a chest X-ray last week and it has shown that she has a small about of fluid on her lung, she recently had triple heart bypass surgery and apparently this is common after surgery.
Has anyone got/has this problem? I’m trying to gather as much information as I can about it.
Thank you
Michelle

I had an aortic valve replacement in November and also had a small amount of fluid on the lungs afterwards. I was put on antibiotics and flurosomide, and made a quick recovery.
Hi Michelle, I had a quad heart bypass 18 months ago . They deflate the lung so that they can rummage around unimpeded in the chest cavity. My left lung took ages to re inflate and wasn't fully inflated at my last X-ray. I wouldn't worry too much though as I think it is quite common. I am back to running 10 Ks and half marathons so it doesn't hamper me too much.
