Metoprolol stopped working / quad bypass surgery
I have been taking 50mg of Metoprolol since I had quad bypass 9 weeks ago. It has kept my blood pressure down into normal range but about a week ago I started getting slight pain in my arms, under my shoulder blades and shortness of breath when active and moving around. I also noticed that my blood

Blocked Artery
I live in Spain and was diagnosed with Angina some years ago and prescribed medication. After a few years my condition got worse I was given an angiogram, when they discovered a totally blocked artery. I was told that it was impossible to fit a stent and that it was not necessary to have a heart bypass

Will my dad be okay?
Hi all - I’m writing because I’m really worried about my dad (62 yrs). He’s been having some pain between his shoulder blades while exercising for a few months now. He went in to see his cardiologist last week, and came back with a calcium score of 2200 and an appointment for an angioplasty + at least

My experience is very similar. My partner suffered cardiac arrest 8th June. Sedated for 2 weeks but responding to pain tests. MRI was suggested as clear as was CT scan. Although he did develop a chest infection which delayed the removal of ventilator. When they lifted sedation he pulled out his feeding

Statin intolerance
Trying hard to take statins after heart bypass. Have managed to get my cholesterol level down to normal without statins and result came back from lab “no further action” but rang my doctor anyway to discuss the fact I should be on them as a precautionary measure . He put me on Ezetimibe 10 mg but no

6 weeks after heart bypass
6 weeks after heart bypass, and my breast bone hurts. Is this common normal? My left and right upper breast bones both hurts. And I have some digestion issues on and off, felt neasous. Been doing 2km, 3km walk on alternate days. On good days all is fine. On bad days I'm just so lethargic and felt lousy

Post-surgery shortness of breath when talking
Hi, all I haven't posted for a while. I'm doing pretty well, exercising, my scars have gone hypertrophic/keloid so I've started using Silicone Scar Gel as well as Bio-Oil. I keep moving onto my side at night (I start on my back) and waking with pain in my sternum. My meds have slowed my digestive system

C25K Graduate
So, I graduated yesterday on the C25K programme. Feeling a great sense of achievement at the moment, especially given that I suffered a heart attack in October 2019 and needed to have bypass surgery. Looking forward to continuing my running journey. Never thought I would be saying that!

Getting Worried
After 6 months saw my surgeon re my heart Bypass operation in May. Told me I was a priority bot also needed Aortic Valve replacement and possibly an Aneurism as well as the Aortic Root is ballooned. Possible surgery in June or July after 2 weeks in isolation at home. But I need a CT Aortogram first.

Live alone; what help will I need at home after a CABG?
I'm due to have a bypass in the next month for 1, possibly 2 or 3, coronary arteries following repeat in-stent restenosis after 2 angioplasty procedures. My question relates to the extent that I'll need any assistance at home after leaving hospital given that I live alone. I'm sure I can arrange for

Change in behaviour and mood after open-heart / bypass surgery ?
In 2016, aged 53, I had my mitral-valve repaired and afterwards never felt, despite the reassurance from the surgeon and cardiologist, that my short-term memory and concentration recovered to anywhere near what they were pre-surgery. I found that I could get muddled very easily, have moments where
