6 weeks after heart bypass, and my breast bone hurts. Is this common normal? My left and right upper breast bones both hurts.
And I have some digestion issues on and off, felt neasous. Been doing 2km, 3km walk on alternate days. On good days all is fine. On bad days I'm just so lethargic and felt lousy.
Any tips or advise is much appreciated

6 weeks is really early on your road to recovery, your sternum usually takes between 10-12 weeks to have healed enough to start cardio rehab. So easy goes it, gentle exercise and no lifting! No hoovering! Let the bone heal.
As for having bad days, remember you have been though major surgery, and your brain is still working out what your body as been through, plus the anesthetiser takes longer than we imagine to completely leave our bodies.
You will get there, just takes longer than we think it should!
Hope your feeling better soon, I am sure you will.
Yea, Remember with any heart operation they do have to remove your breast bones to get at your heart, then once your heart has been fixed the surgeon then replaces the bones. Think it similar to replacing a broken bone in your leg, but worse. See your doctor if still not satisfied. Good Luck.
