First rheumy appointment, she can't decide what's wrong, what do you think of how I have been treated?
I went for my first rheumy appointment on the 24th June. All my symptoms seem to me to suggest lupus. I was asked lots of questions and had a through examination. She said that she thought it was fibro but wasn't as I didn't respond to any tender points. She then said it was probably auto-immune and

Herpetiformis Dermatitis and Non-Hodgkins Low Grade B-Cell Follicular Lymphoma
As far as I can tell, I have had HD since Christmas 2011, when I was 61 years old. It worsened in 2012, but my dermatologist (#1) resisted testing for/exploring autoimmunity (my younger brother died from complications related to JRA in 2009 so I thought there might be a link). Dermatologist #2 did all

Rough journey through health
Back in May this year I had had a few weeks feeling a bit rough, not really myself. I pretty much ignored it and carried on, occassionally taking pain killers if needed. This didn't seem to be anything more than a passing virus at the time. Eventually, towards the end of May, I began to struggle

Oh dear . . . Oh dear . . .
. . . I had a Chest X-Ray done a few weeks ago and yesterday I was asked to go and see the main man (my GP – really the nicest of Doctors I have ever seen) and so I went…! Now do I say ‘PHEW’ or should I be grateful (which I am) that someone (other than just my GP) was doing their job and found a little

As Promised - Update on the Health Saga
Well it was a long night and a long day - and sadly no results from the consultation today. Lots of various tests done and repeat X-Ray. The tumour is still there but hasn't grown and he cant see anything else on the chest x ray. The important question as to whether it is cancer or benign wont be answered

My ongoing infection.
7 weeks now with a chest infection. Just as it seems to improve, it comes back. I saw my specialist today. He is a star! After 2 lots of ABs and 2 lots of steroids, I knew on Saturday night it was back, so I started my 3rd lot of steroids but no ABs as he had already told me that they won't help.

My journey from misery to hope.
I wanted to share something. As some of you are aware, I had my Levothyroxine reduced just over 7 years ago from 150mcg down to 100mcg purely on the basis of the TSH. At the time I had only basic understanding of my situation as a post-total thyroidectomy patient. I had been quite well

Understanding Raynauds
Hi All, I have been a member of this group for a while and found everyone's posts very informative and helpful. Thank you so much. it's reassuring that Raynauds isn't just a case of "cold hands" which a lot of people seem to think. My doctor suspected I had Raynauds last June when I started getting

HEALTH ANXIETY SELF HELP SOLUTIONS
I suffer with health anxiety. I have suffered for the past two years, it started following the sudden death of my mother from Lymphoma. In the past I have believed that I have throat cancer, lung cancer, heart problems and currently I worry that I have lymphoma myself. I find myself worrying every day

Bad News (Secondary Cancer)

Is this usual for others treatment from gp without seeing you
Went for my blood check as I am on methotrexate said I felt unwell and thought I had a chest infection. The nurse did not check me out physically or listen to my chest just said she would talk to the gp. Was prescribed antibiotics without any exam or conversation with the gp. Just a message via receptionist

Finally a step forward!
My Rheumy just called to let me know the neurologist has (finally) said my brain splots are nothing to do with Humira but doesn't want me to go back on it as I wasn't well at all when I took it - huge flare up and other side effects like fainting. I have a fridge full of the stuff (wonder if I could

Really struggling. I am totally lost. Help!
Or, then again, maybe I am just too impatient. The story so far is this. I have no thyroid - removed surgically after Graves' and then later Toxic Multinodular goitre. Many of you know my story. For 23 years, I was taking 150mcg Levothyroxine. I was OK although not in the running for the Marathon
