Trapped Lung
After a relatively good day yesterday I finally had a phone call I had been waiting for since the end of last week. I have been chasing the hospital up to find out if an embolisation procedure to stop my chylothorax will be possible. There is still no news now the consultant radiologist is talking to

Prescribed Bisoprolol / aspirin having side effects any advice?
Hi, I am new to this website my name is Stuart and I'm 41. I was diagnosed with a LBBB aged 39 in 2016 after having an episode of chest pain this showed up on an ecg, my bloods were tested and no traces of the enzyme troponin were found so cardiology confirmed I hadn't had myocardial infarction but said

It's not always bad news!
I had a chest X-ray in January this year and was told I had ring shadows that could represent bronchiectasis and also there were changes in my emphysema, waited four months for a ct scan, then another two weeks for the results, luckily my ring shadows was nothing and they had disappeared 😀 I'm so pleased

Feel so lonely
Good morning. Around 13 years ago, following my very first chest x-ray, it was discovered that I have a hypoplastic right lung with pulmonary atresia. This very rare condition means that I basically only breathe with my left lung, which has grown to become sufficient enough for my needs. I now have bronchiectasis

Just found a worrying lump
Hi everyone, I'm a 51 year old peri menopausal woman who's hormones are haywire at the mo and don't really have periods anymore and I've just found a small hard pea like lump in right boob. I'll just give a brief history. Was diagnosed with anemia in October 2017 which coincided with a dry socket tooth

Inflammation in the lungs ?
Hello everyone, I am just about recovered from the biggest flare up I have had since being diagnosed with RA seven years ago. My meds have not kept me as comfortable since having to stop Enbrel in 2016 through being diagnosed with breast cancer. The good news is that my Rheumatology doctor is going

Lung Transplant Assessment
Yesterday I had my lung transplant assessment appointment at the Harefield Hospital fully aware that it was going to be a full on experience packed full of tests and various meetings with members of the lung transplant team where I'd be being given an awful lot of information to process. I'm really

7 day monitor fitted today to decide whether I need a pacemaker
It is not often we wish for bad things to happen but I am of course hoping my heart will 'do its thing' at least once this week because I know it is speeding up inappropriately and I suspect it is slowing the same. We know about the AF although I would like that recorded as well, my cunning plan of calling

Something in my Back?
Something in my back? I know this might sound silly but does anybody else have the sensation of something growing inside your Back? Making breathing more difficult. It's not painfull. More of an tickling sensation. Nothing to be seen or felt on outside. Had chest x-ray 6months ago. Nothing showed up.

CT scan next Monday
Following on from having a chest x-ray last week I'm booked in for a CT scan of my chest and abdomen which includes me being injected with contrast dye. I have received a letter from the hospital explaining the procedure and also mentioning that two hours before hand I should drink a litre of water.

Hi. Haven’t been on much recently, but lots been happening. My BP has been playing up for around four to five weeks and I hadn’t been feeling quite “right”. I advised Gp who ordered a Holter Monitor and Chest x Ray because I’ve had irregular heartbeats too. Unfortunately events overtook is last Sunday

Feeling breathless
I had a chest X-ray and a stress test not very long ago so I am feeling like this is from tapering. I guess I just need some reassurance. I tapered from 7mg to 6mg a little over a week ago. At first everything was so good it surprised me. The last several days, however, I get these times, sometimes toward

April, at least here in the South East of England, has continued the long, dark, wet winter. Even Scotland is doing better than us! The good news is that our website (www.ghic.world) is now fully up and running.

Sudden onset of tight chest
Hi All, I've had asthma since birth and it's been manageable, the symptoms have also improved over the years (now 43yrs old) and I only needed to use my reliever every few days. A couple months ago my chest became tight almost overnight to the point where I need to use my reliever 4-8 times a day.
