Keratosis Pilaris getting worse
Hi, I've always suffered from Keratosis Pilaris on the tops of my arms and thighs which hasn't particularly bothered me much, but now aged 26, it's suddenly gotten much worse. My entire legs are covered in ugly red spots which have now spread to the backs of my thighs and even my bottom! Rather embarrassing

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Vitamin A (Retinol, Retinoic Acid [RA], Beta Carotene)
This is the first in a series of reviews of the PCa literature for foods & supplements. When I began looking at studies 12 years ago, I started with vitamin A, which I quickly discovered is not an easy topic. It goes on a bit, so for those who want the bottom line: do not supplement with vitamin A (

Firstly, I was diagnosed as Hypo back in Feb, but have been symptomatic for around 5 years. My GP told me to just eat less and exercise more and that I had IBS. I knew that was

AN UPDATE ON MY GCA REDUCTION JOURNEY & NO RETURN OF MPS
2 weeks ago I reduced to 7.5 mg and, to date, haven’t experienced any withdrawal symptoms or side effects., so may well venture down to 7 this weekend. I’ve been taking 2.5 ng at midnight (we retire late) and 5 mg at 9 am. I’ve been splitting in this ratio for a couple of months and it’s worked

Copd diagnosed 5 years ago (2011)
Hello all, thought I would share my recent results which I am very happy with: I was diagnosed with copd 5 years ago, had been smoking 20 per day for 38 years. I stopped on 27 May 2012 at 5.45pm! My fev1 was 72% then. (Moderate) Over past 4 years I took up gym and swimming regularly - I am now 56,

I already have retinA at home, wondering if I should use it.
about a year ago, way before my Dx, I bought retinA serum to treat my skin against the sun damage and the acne scars I had. I used it for a while on my face with a combination of vitamin C serum. All this bought on Ebay and without medical guidance I must say. I think we all heard about the promising

Rattling
Pharyngitis. I'd never heard of it until yesterday. But now I've got it, with inflamed tonsils. Deep joy. My voice is now nothing more than a strained whisper and I'm not leaving my bed today. Soooo... I'm now taking 8 penicillin tablets a day to attack my throat like a unit of green berets on a mission

Boss harassing me for too much time off work
I'm sure most of you understand how shit it is to go to work when you're in pain. I am a dental hygienist which I think is a stressful physical and psychological job and in my line of work it's easy to catch colds and hard to work (and quite dangerous) when you have a cold or are in pain. A couple

Struggling to lose weight
Hello all. I'm currently struggling to shed extra fat. I guess the post title is a little misleading as I'm more concerned with losing fat than with weighing less. I currently cycle 3-4 times a week, clocking in an average of between 60-100miles per week. I also incorporate 2-3 sessions of fairly intense

New member with blood test results - your thoughts please
Hello, my name is Vanda and I am a 53 year post menopausal female. I have been struggling with a whole lot of symptoms that may point to hypothyroid disorder, so I had bloods done by my GP and also paid for New Horizon bloods as after reading on here, I knew my GP bloods would be next to useless. I

ITP and Feeling the Cold
We have had numerous comments from followers suggesting that ITP sufferers feel the cold considerably more than non - ITP sufferers. So we put this to some of the ITP Support Association medical panel to see what they thought. Well .....the general opinion is that there is NO DIRECT link between

COPD
Can anyone tell me if a green inhaler containing Salmeterol 50 micrograph, one puff twice a day is a large dose. I was diagnosed with COPD last week and my Dr didn't tell me much not even what stage I was and at the time I did not know that even existed. I was told my lungs are equivalent to a 79 year
