why do all these duo asthma inhalers cause colds, Been on 3 different one. Onlyone that doesn't is symbicort. Been on it 5 weeks it brilliant, and no colds fingersx

Hi I have only ever been on one preventer - symbicort and it has never caused me any problems either. x

Asthma inhalers don't cause colds, viruses do. It is likely to be a coincidence that you caught a virus cold at the same time. Some meds work better for some people that others. I too find Symbicort very good. I am also on Spiriva which gave me a horse ( I used to be able to spell, honest) voice, well maybe I did sound a bit like a horse, for two months, then disappeared just like that. I stopped using it the first time I was prescribed because of my dry croaky (turned into a frog now) throat. When on Rehab the Respiratory Team persuaded me to give it one more go. I persevered, and am so glad I did as it really helps my Asthma now and my voice is back to normal.

when i used to use the higher doses of becotide I would definitely get more colds and when I got a cold it would be much more severe.
