Non SOC radiation options for metastatic
I've noticed some of you talking about brachy or stereotatic irradiation for metastatic disease. What are these options and how are they being implemented (clinical trial, rogue doctor, etc.)? I haven't found much background info. (I'm not talking about the isotope-membrane PSMA stuff.) Or are the people

Had a break but back on it tomorrow/Achilles tendonosis.
Had a break due to holiday (I did 2 runs, including my first 20 minute one) but stopped due to the heat in the early mornings increasing, and did lots of walking instead, which is good, but... I have suffered with Achilles problems for some years and now seem to have Achilles tendonosis which is not

Stelara for GCA
My doctor wants to try Stelara biologic shots for my treatment because I was no longer able to continue Actemra when I got dividiculitis. Some small studies have shown promise in GCA. She would try and get me approved for it based on a previous diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis . I really don’t think

Not so. Happy anymore: sacral fractures
He is the one who ordered the MRI and was suspicious of
fractures
. Until now I’ve been singing Annie’s “Tomorrow” in my head; now I am not so sure. Anyone else develop this after using steroids? It is good to have a place to vent once in a while.

GOAL: increase speed through weight loss
I’ve been logging my intake for nearly two weeks now and have lost nearly half a stone. This is very exciting for me as my weight didn’t budge for months just running! I’m about to break into the 11 stone somethings. Watch this space.... and hopefully a faster 5k will also happen soon! PB

Side effects of radiotherapy on patients with SLE
Surgery went well and a couple of weeks ago I met with my oncologist for the first time and was told that, due to my lupus diagnosis, I have a higher risk of late side effects from the radiotherapy, (heart and lung problems, thickening of the treated area, rib
fractures
etc).

Biphosphonates and oral thrush.
After 2 years of Forsteo and trying Raloxofine (and 3
fractures
later) I had 2 courses of Ibandronic acid and along with other side effects the Oral Thrush returned. I again stopped the injections had treatment for the oral thrush and have been clear since.

Prednizone Dose "Survey"- 5mg vs 10mg per day
Hi, all. I have been on Prednizone (with Zytiga, Lupron) for two years. Going "off" mid July. Prednizone, in addition to being necessary when taking Zytiga, thins the skin. My arm look like hell. If there is a "next time" I am questioning the 10 mg per day I have followed. So...... Who has taken Lupron

PSA dropped....compression fractures atT11,T12
There has been some interval development of pathological compression
fractures
at T11 and T12. The oncologist is quite pleased with progress. I feel well except for the side effects. Any comments and suggestion with regards to the compression
fractures
at T11 and T12 and C7. God bless

My GP is unsympathetic about my pain, what can I do?
I was x-rayed and later the doctor told me my
fractures
were very nasty and it will take at least 6 months to get better. My cast was removed and I was given an orphopeadic boot to wear. I was told I was to wear it 4 weeks and also given an exercise instruction sheet and told to do these daily.

I have doubts from PA that Zytiga is working
SO is on Lupron , Zytiga and Xgeva. The Zytiga (1000 MG) with Xygeva were both added 4 months after Lupron. (initial PSA was 947 in October 2018) Here are the PSA numbers when Zytiga started: 2/12/19- PSA 21.55 3/19/19- PSA 18.66 5/7/19- PSA 11.63 MO told him to stop Zytiga for one week from 5/7/19

HIP FRACTURE WITH BONE METS
Can anyone tell me what to expect regarding complications with hip replacements? My friend fell and now requires this surgery. Not sure if he fell related to fracture or for hgb of 5. Would like to know expected outcomes...good or bad from those with this experience! Thank you so much!

Do NOT do this at home
Seriously. I cannot stress this enough. If you are working your way through your first C25K plan right now, DO NOT DO what I just did. I’ve been running for a few years now and I took a gamble and everything thing was fine (but see farther down the post) I had a hairdresser’s appointment this afternoon
