Opinion on a scan
Doctor order x-rays of hip and femur to check for any
fractures
. The report can back ok and stated there was no indication of presumed met on femur. Would an x-ray not pick a spot that supposedly bone scan did?

Hello Good people I did PSA after 1month is increased from 0.29 to 0.39 directly i informed my Dr. in Germany he told me to check up PSA every month. So he recommended if i reach PSA 1.0 =The development suggest that the medication alone is slowly missing part of it's efficiency. Check PSA in monthly

Nsaids and a fracture
I have been reading that nsaids are really bad when recovering from a fracture. I couldn't find any definitive as to whether or not prednisone interferes with the healing of a fracture. If anybody knows anything about this I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks

Treatment plan at Mayo after PSMA scan
Moving forward toward SRT at Mayo after PSMA found intense uptake in surgical bed at left/posterior aspect of bladder. Radiologist is ordering MRI and Lupron after 2 weeks of casodex and will drop casodex after 4 weeks continuing Lupron for 6 months. The ADT approach sounds a little weak to me. I was

Omeprazole/Lansoprazole
I spoke with my GP yesterday and he has now prescribed 10mg Omeprazole and after reading the side effects , it kind of defeats the object as it can increase the risk of
fractures
and Predisolone can increase the risk of Osteoporasis. I am on 5mg Predisolone a day for PMR.

Micronutrients used in study protocol reversed my osteoporosis though taking prednisone for PMR
After I couldn’t tolerate AA and Forteo landed me in hospital for shortness of breath I researched a study protocol used in Canada which had good results. This was the COMB protocol using micronutrients: It used: fish oil, K2, D3 and strontium Citrate. I followed this for only a year and half because

Xgeva
My dad is on lupron and Zytiga ( prednisone) and now Xgeva which I guess is a monthly shot - is it normal to have to get blood work monthly before the Xgeva and is that ever able to be given every few months rather than monthly ? Thank you!

Femara vs tamoxifen for gynecomastia
Femara was suggested to prevent gynecomastia while taking casodex, however it seems tamoxifen is overwhelmingly referenced on this board. Can either of these drugs affect PSA lowering results of casodex, and is tamoxifen preferred and if so why. Thanks as always for your support.

Newly diagnosed post radical prostatectomy
I am 65 and have a PSA of 8.4 after radical prostatectomy in Nov 2020, MRI shows no pelvis infiltration so suspicion are distant mets, PET scan coming up. I have requested surgical castration as opposed to meds, as even loading dose of oral bicalutemide floored me with fatigue and worsening arthritis

Zytiga did not Work - Chemo or RA 223 Next
Question for all you warriors. Have you had Zytiga fail? Yesterday I met with my MO and he reviewed the results of my PSA - now 15 - up from 4 - ninety days ago when I started Zytiga, the bone scan - some mets larger and some new ones - and CT scan with no mets in the soft tissues. He said we

Pelvic fracture
Finally have an answer (unhappily) to my groin pain. I have a left hip labral tear and a left inferior pubic ramus fracture. I knew something serious was happening but 2 drs. just said go to physical therapy. The third dr. finally ran an MRI (which was very painful in and of itself.) I had been asking

Bone Mets & Bone Density - two different topics?
Since I was concerned about the
fractures
that many have mentioned here, and paranoid about ending up in a wheelchair, I asked my GP to refer me for a bone densitometry test. I have the results now.

Testosterone level on Firmagon and Xtandi
Anyone experiencing a testosterone level around 20 ng/DL (and rising) after being on Firmagon and Xtandi? After initial treatment it was undetected and has gone from 10 last month to 20 this month. I know it’s not a trend but still makes me worry. Your experiences?
