Anyone used the FODMAP diet?
I suspect I have what would be diagnosed as IBS and I am REALLY reluctant to go to my doc with it, because I'm sure that's the label I'll get slapped on me, but I recently saw the
FODMAP
diet recommended for IBS sufferers and at this stage (I'm getting very reluctant to eat at all), I don't think I have

IBS Linked With Anxiety?
I'm still under the care of the gastro team, and have also begun the low
FODMAP
diet. There has been some suttle changes in my stomach problems, but nothing I would ever shout from the rooftops about.

Where can I get the items on the low FODMAP diet?
Has anyone found a good supply of low
FODMAP
items that will deliver? Which shops do you all use? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Started the low FODMAP diet yesterday and my symptoms are worse than ever! Do I try and eat something or should I wait?
I am following the instructions in Patsy Catsos' book and I started the elimination stage of the low
FODMAP
diet yesterday with gluten free corn flakes and soya milk which was fine. I had diarrhoea shortly after but that was probably due to the previous days food intake.

For some, I believe the Paleo diet is far better than the FODMAP diet...
Right now my Mirtazapine Rx is keeping my diarrhea at bay... but, like I have told everyone... I'm not holding my breath! We KNOW how tricky IBS can be. Beginning about a year ago, I started the Paleo diet... its very cleansing and you absolutely, resolutely CAN NOT CHEAT one bite (and then say 'oh,

FODMAP diet
I have read this '
FODMAP
' word so many times and yet I am at a loss as to what it means I presume it stands for something like 'Food or Diet Making Arse Problems' but I doubt if I am right. I also understand it to be very secretive as I can't find much information on it other than it exists.

Hypothyroidism + Fibromyalgia + Migraine
., & have to follow a
FODMAP
diet. I used to be a regular swimmer (2/3 times per week for almost 20yrs) until I became allergic or intolerant to Chlorine & had to give it all up. I've no faith whatsoever in our NHS / GP service, & don't feel as though I really get any coherent support at all.

Severe IBS D and Bile Salt Malabsorption
I started on a low-
FODMAP
regime about 14 weeks ago now. I have found that it helps in some ways, but doesn't relieve as many of the symptoms as I'd like - particularly the uncertainty of leaving the house and not having accidents in public. Avoiding onion and garlic is truly the hardest part!

thanks for all your replies to ibs and anxiety
I followed the advice on here and trying the low
FODMAP
diet. been doing this for around 1 or 2 weeks. mainly cutting out dairy gluten and beans and some fermentable veg and high fructose fruit. Hospital reffered me to a dieticain for advice on
FODMAP
diet. waiting to hear from them.

It's back
Does anyone out there know of a dietician in Bedfordshire who is trained in the
fodmap
diet. Sorry to go on but I feel really low today. Look forward to any ideas you can suggest.

Second time of being diagnosed with underactive thyroid
I have horrendous IBS and have to eat a rigid
FODMAP
diet which doesn't give me enough energy to make up for an underactive thyroid so I am now on Mebeverine and just trying to eat as much veg as I can handle to help me.

Has anyone had success with being put on a low dose anti depressant for their IBS?
I follow a low
fodmap
diet with extra exclusions. I've had every test you can think of, seen a gastroenterologist and have a dietician. I'm told I don't have a gluten sensitivity but being gluten free helps a little.
