Has anyone added Fenofibrate to Urso regimen? If so, any side effects? Are you feeling better?

Statins & Metformin
For those interested in the full text of the recent study: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/cam4.2862 Of particular interest is Table 3. Note that Lovastatin did very poorly, but not many men were using it. Simvastatin, which had more users than the other statins combined, was disappointing

Knee problems
Hi guys. Not been here for a while. I'm diagnosed with hypothyroidism for four years. I'm obviously Male. Lately I've been getting pains in my knees and occasionally my knee gives out. I'm 53 and its embarrassing when you fall over for no reason. Is this normal for hypothyroidism. My blood tests don't

Use of Ventolin inhaler
I am on Nebivolol , Simvastatin and Warfarin is it ok to use a Ventolin inhaler.? Recently I have had a chest infection, cough etc and found that a puff from my inhaler helped me to be able to cough up gunk instead of just coughing unproductively for ages and ending up with no voice and a sore throat

Statins again
How soon do statins generally start causing muscle pain ( If at all). I've lived with chronic pain; FIbromyalgia , adhesions and neuropathy for years. I 've taken oxycodone for 19 years. Had Fibro for 40 years and the rest for 20 so it's really difficult to work out what's making me so much worse. I

Meds not working....why bother ?
If meds don't work, why take them ? I know this could be at bit off the wall, so to speak, but it struck me the other day when I was trying to get my thoughts together for the New year..."why am I taking meds everyday when nothing changes? " I have very annoying and often frightening night-time palpitations

Lisinopril
I had a heart attack in 2005 and a stent fitted in my right coronary artery. At the time I was put on 2.5 mg bisoprolol, 2.5mg lisinopril, 75mg apirin and 40 mg simvastatin . I am now 69 years old. I dropped the lisinopril about 5 years ago as my BP was not an issue and my GP thought it may be contributing

Our October Holiday.
A plan comes together.
After a positive report at my appointment at the Oncologist Clinic, in the middle of August 2019, I decided to take a further leap of faith and go back to The Broads to sneak in another week. My thoughts are to take my son with us this time, I try to treat my 2 children

Is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Hi, my husband (aged 45) had an emergency aortic root replacement and aortic valve replacement back in July. He was fit and active before non smoker no other health issues except asthma which he wasn’t inhaler reliant every day. The op has been a success but is suffering with lightheadedness and dizziness

New to this statins game
Just returned from GP, after My 3rd successive high cholesterol, it's been decided to start simvastatin. Am not that keen, but given my diet is good, I run half marathon and am 60 years of age, don't know what else I can do, so it's bad genes for me. Any positive tips or encouragement would be good.

Active Surveillance Is Over For Me
Hello Everybody Age 66 and in good general health. No diabetes and not overweight. Only take two medicines at a low dose: Lisinopril and Simvastatin. Sixteen months ago a nodule was felt during annual physical. PSA was 0.90. A biopsy done fifteen months ago showed one core (of 12) with 10% Gleeson

PMG/Thyroid - Steroids
Two years ago I decided to have the shingles injection as having my twin grandchildren I didn't want to worry if they ever got chicken pox, etc. It wasn't until I was diagnosed with PMG did I investigate whether the shingles jab could have caused my PMG which developed a few months after the injection
