Statins and Type 2 Diabetes
Not strictly speaking an MPN question but I’d be interested to know if anyone has had a similar experience of statins and insulin resistance as a possible side effect. When I was first diagnosed with ET 17 years ago my GP put me on Simvastatin to reduce my cholesterol, which was only slightly high, and

Possibility of a link...PBC, Anemia, Adenocarcinoma
When I last checked in I was on a new course of Fenofibrate along with Ursadiol. The Fenofibrate continued to keep my numbers in a good range with no apparent side effects. I wanted to let you know about another serious health issue I am dealing with. I was diagnosed with PBC in 2012. At the same time

What do I do?
Have just had a phone call from my health centre. The doctor is concerned about my cholesterol level. (10). This was the level I had when I was first tested on a whim whilst in holiday over 20 years ago. I watched my diet and got it down to 6 something but doctors said I should go on statins. Was given

Take meds on an empty stomach, or take with food, or ?
I've spoken with many pharmacists and my electrophysiologist as well, and I'm puzzled because they say the same or different things! If anyone can ring in on what *might* work best, I'd appreciate it. I take the metoprolol extended release once a day in the morning. I take the flecainide twice a day

Anyone ever taken Atarax? Side effects? Results?
Got off the phone with my mothers doctor, and he said he was going to prescribe her Atarax and explained it was use to treat adhd but studies showed it may help the puritus symptom. Anyone ever taken this and had bad side effects? Is it safe? I had to get her off Sertraline because they gave her that

FENOFIBRATE
I was hoping that this post would be the one where I get to celebrate how well the Fenofibrate was working out for me. Took it for about 7 weeks. Was quite uncomfortable the whole time with just about every side effect listed (didn't actually read the literature until this week because sometimes that
