Edoxoban Update
I recently posted that my Cardiologist had put me on Edoxoban 30mg daily, instead of Aspirin which I had been taking for years. He said the Edoxoban was both safer, and unlike Aspirin would prevent the risk of stroke. A day after starting Edoxoban, I either came down with a cold, or allergy symptoms

Statins! Oh the pain
Hi I have been on statins since having my HA in late August in Turkey on holiday. I was put on Turkish drugs and apart from fatigue I was fine on these. I have since been on Atorvstatin 80mg but I have suffered really badly with aching legs and arms. I spoke to GP and they changed me to a lower dose

I have chronic renal failure stage 3 , have had aerotic valve surgery, also fairly high ldl cholesterol, prediabetes because of simvastatin, nhs will not authorize pcsk9 inhibitors for me , it seems that the nhs would prefer you to become diabetic than give better drugs without side effects

Simvastatin v Atorvastatin
Just had a conversation with my Surgery employed Pharmacist. she asked me if I would object to switching from Simvastatin to Atorvastatin as the Simvastatin was rather an old drug. I was put on it around 2007. I told her to go ahead ... no problems. The following quote is what I found during an ultra

I am in my 70s and discovered to have heart issues at a pre opp assessment for a bowel op. Cardiologist put me on Ramipril, Bisoprolol and a Statin prior to having an MRI and CT Scan. It appears I have a mild systolic murmur and an artery less that 50% blocked. Aspirin now added to medication.I am finding

Statins may increase the risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
New Italian study [1] - which will be misunderstood, imo. The authors seem to have expected statin use to lower the risk of PCa: "... their anti-inflammatory features {statins} could play a role in preventing tumorigenesis." Instead: "Tumor incidence was higher among men taking statins, compared

ALP and when to add 2nd line therapy
I was diagnosed Feb. 2022 ALP was 307. Started URSO right away. ALP went down quickly - In July 2022 it was 107 but October 2022 was 119 and April 2023 was 120. So my specialist wanted to add ocaliva. I convinced him to give it another 6 months before adding anything and he agreed. So I am praying
