Bisoprolol AND Amlodipine?
As I popped my morning pharmaceuticals it struck me that I'm taking two medications that seem to both be there to control blood pressure, albeit through different mechanisms. The CCBs predated my recent OHS with the beta blockers being prescribed on discharge. I've only ever been mildly hypertensive

A good side effect to blood pressure medication.... 🙂
I was recently found to have had an increase in my blood pressure, despite already taking Ramipril which had seemed to be doing a good job. So I’ve been prescribed an additional BP control medication, Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker. There are various negative side effects, ankle swelling being

Which questions to ask Cardiologist?
I have my first appointment with my Cardiologist on 30th Apil after my LVD/HF diagnosis from Echo on 28th February and am still wondering what I need to know... Ramipril... Yay or Nay?
I am new on here after a recent and very unexpected diagnosis of Heart Failure. I was sent for an ECG to be safe during a pre op assessment for some minor day surgery when I complained about tingling arm and tight painful chest. Been told for decades it was stress/anxiety related so wasn't concerned.

Calcium Channel Blockers
Does anyone know if you have side effects from amlodipine (I had awful breathlessness) whether you would have the same problem if you tried another type of CCB. They have put me on Ramipril now, but as I’m 61 I wondered if this would be as effective. Also the dreaded cough is starting. Thanks for
