Thank You All
Just want to say thank you to everyone who was so kind and concerned when I had my "bloody" situation. I went to the haematologist this aft to get things checked and be blood sucked by the vampires for clotting studies. Hey ho, was just about to leave the house, went to move something and didn't think

15 yr old daughter is B12 deficient - what should I be asking our GP to do?
Hi everyone, my daughter had a series of blood tests recently as she was getting unexplained pains in her thighs. Her B12 came back as 169 so they did a repeat and it came back at 150 two weeks later. Whilst speaking to the GP (about another matter) I looked on his screen and saw that her MCV was 83

B12 deficiency - Low stomach acid, parietal cells, instrinic factor light bulb moment.
I have just been doing some reading after GP said intrinsic factor and parietal cell antibodies could be tested for. I am so angry no one suggested this before as I've had all of the damned symptoms of B12 deficiency for years....anyway ... This explains why auto immune suffers can't get their B12

SIDE EFFECTS OF VITAMIN B12 INJECTIONS
In the month since I joined this website, I noticed many reports of side effects by those receiving injections. I purchased a vial of 1,000 mcgs of B12 with the doctor's prescription, that remains unused. I was not aware that cianocobalamin is not the only form of injectable B12So I have used sublingual

Gastroscopy / colonoscopy on Saturday!
Thought I would blog today. I saw a GE (gastroenterologist) Consultant on 5 Feb. Didn't really feel that confident after the meeting. 20 minutes of talk, and then he dictated his letter to my GP for 10 minutes. Not had that experience before and over the last 3 years been going to the Nuffield Orthopaedic

Help with hypo and cardio symptoms appreciated.
I was diagnosed a year ago, after what I think was a decade of being borderline hypo. I take 25ug of levo and my last TSH measurement was 1.9. FT4 and FT3 are both 'within range'. My GP has prescribed ACE inhibitors and calcium channel blockers, neither of which had any effect on my blood pressure. She

I have not had any other acid reflux symptoms, I am of normal weight and eat healthily, I have even cut out

My story so far
Hi everyone. My name is littleladymai (It's not my real name :-p) , I'm 23 years old and this is my story so far... It all started about 5/6 years ago, I made numerous visits to my GP complaining of knee pain. I always felt that the Dr's didn't really believe me, I was sent away with painkillers

I have been told that my intrinsic factor doesn't work and that's why I have pernicious anemia I know that the IF absorbs B12 but does it do anything else in your body, I really don't know much about any of this can anyone help?

Hi all Still desperately trying to sort myself out and am feeling really angry today following the latest 'report' from an endocrinologist who, despite my ongoing symptoms of ill health, claims she cannot help me and doesn't want to see me for another year! Despite her brief as an endocrinologist
