It might sound silly but ...
Hi lovely people, I have a question please. If your intrinsic factor is not working and you have PA would it not still show up on tests even if you are having b12 injections? I know it skews the results I just wondered if it was possible to test positive at all. Just had a haemotologist apt and test

Iron panel results
I am not sure are my iron panel results just ok or good? Iron 13.4 (9-34) ( optimal 20) TrFeSat 0.25 (0.15-0.45) TransFer 2.2 (1.8-3.2) Ferrit 32 (5-90) D 25 28 (>50) Fe-folate 507 (> 360) Negative rheumatoid factor Plus tons of other tests that only show increased eosinophil % which probably is down

Help with bloods and symptoms
My husband has been feeling unwell for several years. Severe fatigue has been the main symptom, along with bad headaches. 18 months ago he started to suffer from tingling in his hands, plus numbness. In time this progressed on to his feet and up his legs and he now has some pain in his heels when walking

My memory is shot and I'm SO confused AND tired
Hi I'm new to this site but have had under-active thyroid for 18 years. I'm afraid this may be a lengthy post! I also have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and in last 2 years have been diagnosed with B12 deficiency and pernicious anaemia... I also have gastro intrinsic factor (GIF) which means I cannot

update on the doctors appointment
I posted my Blue Horizon results on here last week. With some help from this forum and the PA forum, you were all really helpful. I booked a doctors appointment, all raring to go. I went to see my doctor and his first words were, how is your anxiety? are you still taking your anti-depressants? I started

Movement reduces pain.
I'm new. Here goes. Last year had excruciating back pain going down leg. MRI showed 2 bulging disks. Attended back care exercise class at our local hospital, for their course of 8classes. Kept upexercise going at gym. Sciatica felt better, greatly improved. However, since December, started getting pains

Some good news!
Hey everyone, I just wanted to give an update as I had a call from the doctors this morning and after many months (this time around anyway, overall, more like years!), they have agreed to move me on to injections every 2 months, rather than just every 3 - I want to do a little happy dance! Basically

Private blood test confusion!
Hi, If someone doesn't mind helping I'd really appreciate it. Sorry if this is a question only I can answer but I'm so confused and it's stressing me out. I'm looking into private tests and trying to find the cheapest way of getting everything I need. But I'm not quite sure what that is. I'm petrified

Private test confusion
Hi, If someone doesn't mind helping I'd really appreciate it. I'm looking into private tests and trying to find the cheapest way of getting everything I need. But I'm not quite sure what that is. I'm petrified of needles so looking at finger pricks and my gp can't test certain things like t4 and t3 so

Inflammatory or Rheumatoid Arthritis ?
Hello everyone, I had my first appointment with my rheumatologist at the hospital last Monday. She was very nice and prescribed 'Sulfasalazine' and I also had a blood test to see if I had 'the rheumatoid factor'. I thought she said I will see you in 6 months....but today (thursday) I had another appointment

New here with P.A. and Subacute Combined Degeneration
Hi all, Thanks for this group. I have had severe digestive issues for 10 years since getting food poisoning and developing SIBO (small intestinal bacteria overgrowth). Apparently my B12 was not being absorbed due to the antibody being produced which stops the intrinsic factor using the B12. I often

Doctor appointment
Hi following my post saying I have Hashimotos and needing a raise in dose etc. I have seen my GP this afternoon. She has agreed to a raise in dose provided that my TSH remains in range. I have also been told I have tested positive for intrinsic factor antibodies and I have been prescribed folic acid,
