First Rheumatology Appointment
I'm just back from my first appointment with Rheumatology, not really sure how it went, they were having problems with their system and had none of my notes, I got asked just general questions and she examined some of my joints then she said my blood pressure is a bit high but probably just because

Newbie in PA - What drugs are you taking ?
Hi guys, I have just been diagnosed with PA. I am UK based. My B12 level is 118ng/L (normal range 211-911). Intrinsic factor antibody is 108 u/mL (range 0-24). My erythrocytes are slightly enlarged but still on the border of being in norm. Hemoglobin levels are OK. I had my first injection

Hashimotos/autoimmune gastritis/PA connection
This really interesting research was recently posted by Diogenes on TUK forum: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5405068/pdf/fendo-08-00092.pdf "Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (HT) is the most frequent autoimmune disease, and it has been reported to be associated with gastric disorders in 10–40%

Help interpreting B12/blood test results?
Hi everyone, newbie here. I had a blood test a wee while ago due to fatigue and feeling generally run down and lethargic for a long time. I wanted to rule out thyroid issues but the Dr called me to say I had a B12 deficiency (135ng/l) and prescribed me 5 loading dose injections over two weeks to be followed

Where can I get the most modern Intrinsic Factor test so I don't have to stop self-injecting?
Hi all, I thought my b12 deficiency was dietary as I've been vegetarian 22 years but I started self injecting with 1mg hydroxycobalamin alternate day loading doses 7 weeks ago and I still find I need it every other day to function. Also my serum level was never that low (550) when I started self injecting

Update! Seen my GP again. B12 272 folate 8.8
Good morning, More advise please? (Please see my last post for full history) Saw my GP this morning and took Mum with me for support, which was needed and greatly appreciated. I asked the GP if we could discuss restarting my B12 injections as although my B12 levels were 'within range' at 272 I was symptomatic

First Time Writing.. My Story
Well wasn’t it just grand to be diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism just as I became 65 in May last year… hence my username! I could not believe it, I had no outward symptoms. I had only gone to the Doctor because I’d had a course of antibiotics for a cat bite and ended up with a furry tongue that

Haematology : B12 expert 2nd appointment next week
The haematologist told me, at the end of my first appointment, that I should write down any questions I have for her and we will go through them next time. That's next week. Although my test results are: Intrinsic Factor Antibody: negative Active B12: normal I still have the following symptoms: hair

Borderline B12 test results - please help - no joy from GP
My b12 was 202 ng/l in Feb 2017 (reference range 200-900) - GP said normal and refused to do anything. I took sublingual for a month but seemed to do very little. Private text results on Intrinsic Factor Antibody result 3.00 Au/ML. The lab said this was normal. Is it? Gastric Parietal antibody test also
