PA effecting work and need advice on how to approach my employer. Don’t know what I’m entitled to..please help!
Hi, I have PA due to lack of intrinsic factor. I’m really struggling at the minute with basic tasks, like writing a sentence. I tend to miss a odd word out and I completely forget how to spell, even simple words. The brain fog is unreal! I had a embarrassing moment at work the other day and it’s really

Further Update: Multiple Chest Infections
A few people have asked for an update when I get it. Last week I had several blood tests and a sputum sample. Yesterday, my GP asked me to come into the office because I was relapsing after going off of the prednisone for the third time in about 3 weeks and he listened to my chest. He stated I was still

Ok to supplement with small amount of iron if not anemic?
SlowDragon and SeasideSusie, I think you were the ones who advised that to correct low ferritin without anemia, you shouldn't supplement but get the iron through food. I'm wondering if I could at least take 5mg of iron supplement each day -- the amount that's in many daily women's multivitamins? Not long-term

Mycophenolate effects
Hi, I have posted before last year. I live in Ireland but this site is excellent. I was diagnosed with Wegeners/GPA exactly ten years ago - very severe in sinuses and lungs, induced for 18 days. Negligible renal effect but flared in my kidneys in spring last year i.e. 2019. My renal/vasculitis consultant

Iron deficiency
Diagnosed with iron deficiency Anamia in 3/2020, prescribed ferrous sulfate 200mg twice a day. Had colonoscopy, endoscopy, no issue found. Chemist told me to take tablet with orange juice & after food. But I have to go to toilet 7 times with loose stool. Any suggestions?

How to proceed?
Around 2017 the debilitating hypo symptoms started up. LDL cholesterol was flagged high and my morning blood fasting glucose started to rise by ten points (still within range), while terribly hyper/hypoglycemic all day. Before 2017 I recall living and functioning normally but looking back now I remember

Asthma management update :)
Hi all, hope your keeping safe. So it’s been a week since my last cigarette so that’s going ok :) I have another chest x ray tomorrow as there was some slight scarring on the bottom of my lungs on a x ray from jan. They think it’s caused by a bad infection in the past and that’s why I cough up more

Will Doctors Prescribe Pioglitazone (Actos)For NASH
I having no luck getting any physician to prescribe Actos for NASH and wondering the response others have received. I keep getting that Actos really isn’t prescribe anymore, too risky, or they just don’t believe in providing any medicines for NASH.

I am new here and this has probably come up before but I am trying to find out if there is a connection between PMR/GCA (they are not sure which I have) and anaemia - my Hb was 70 - I was given 2 bags of blood back in March (at start of lockdown!!) and have been on 3x210g of ferrous fumarate a day since

I'm new here I have low MCHC (31.8) and low b12, High Creatine (1.0) , Low Globulin (2.3). Are these numbers concerning? Thx for any advice
I need help interpreting bloodwork. Low MCHC concerns me. Thank you for any advice. My doctor is away and I don't want to worry in the meantime. Thanks

Has anyone used Dipyridamole with effect for RLS?
I read that in 2014 and 2015 , Dr Ferre receieved grants from the RLS Foundation to more closely examine how dopamine and glutamate work in the brain. Apparently he found that low levels of receptors of adenosine, a chemical in the brain that regulates neurochemicals, lead to abnormally high levels

Hi I have pain like a stabbing ache on my back as above. If I press on it it’s extremely sore. Is this a PMR thing pls, I’ve had it for 3 months now and chest X-ray and CAT scan show nothing sinister. Thanks
