PMR turns into 3 things, per my Rheumo
I had PMR and on Predisone for 1 1/2 years, and off of it for 5 months. I have bad pain in all joints/muscles and much stiffness. Inflammatory blood tests are OK - CRP and ESr fairly low, and all autoimmune blood tests OK including Rheumatoid Factor, etc. and temporal Ultrasound OK for GCA. Had

MMA results - supplements or further test?
Can I ask for your advice please? I have Hashmito’s. Since learning that this can influence the absorption of nutrients, I have been to the doctor’s to request tests. Last B12 test: 229 ng/l (190-910) I used B12 symptoms checklist which suggests severe deficiency. Neither of this seemed to worry

Male - Age 39 - slim - mostly fit and well - non smoker I have this year began to experience episodes of Raynauds that appear to be triggered by the cold (but not that cold) weather and also stress/anxiety - so fairly classic stuff. The GP initially

Questions regarding my B12 case (IF, veganism, oral sublingual, and other blood results)
Hi all, My case seems to be a little murky. In 2018 I found out that I had very low B12. I was a vegetarian at that time and for the last 2 years have been vegan. Back in 2018, I began injections which brought my level very high very quickly. At that time I also took my first intrinsic factor test. It

How to fight for treatment?
I felt awful last oct and blood test showed B12 was at 21.6pmol/l so was given 6 loading doses. I went back at their request and was told my B12 levels were in range (obviously) and that was that, no other appointments needed. My intrinsic factor they tested a few weeks later was 2Au which I believe

Bit shell shocked !!
it is thirteen years since I was diagnosed with gca. , and to be truthful I have never felt well but have been ok. I still take low dose pred. And methotrexate. I haven’t seen rheumi for two years due to covid etc. so, a few months ago decided after five bad years to get a grip.

Antibodies Negative
Hi, Im pretty new to this all. I was feeling extremely weak lethargic, pins and needles etc and my b12 came back pretty low (167) started injections but now the doctor tells me that the test for my antibodies came back negative which means I do not have PA and that they will not do an Intrinsic factor

Bad chest x-ray and no dx in sight
Hi, I have just had a troubling chest x-ray after experiencing ongoing coughing and a nagging pain in the center of my chest for the past year. Doctor kept passing it off as allergies or mild asthma, but I persisted for a pulmonary consult. Now, no one will follow up with me for a minimum of 2 months

Iron Deficiency Help!
Hi. Back in January I was diagnosed with iron deficiency anaemia and was put on supplements for 3 months, and then to have a follow up blood test a month after finishing the supplements. My ferritin has come up from 5 to 47 (range 30-148) and I was just wondering what sort of response anyone else who

Heart vs pain
I have lived with chronic spinal pain for well over 20 years and have now run out of options for keeping it under control. I recently saw a new, lovely pain consultant who said there were no more standard options but he would like to suggest I try CBD. However my heart is a problem. There hasn't

17 hour flight
I have been invited to a wedding in Louisiana later this year. My RLS is still problematic but manageable at home with Buprenorphine and Pregabalin and walking around / standing up. I am doubtful about the 17 hours flights. I can't ever remember going that long without several attacks of RLS. I've

On iron supplements but my ferritin did not increase
I started having a lot of symptoms of iron deficiency last year after correcting my long term B12 deficiency: dry mouth, palpitations, muscle twitches. It is possible that my iron had been low for a long time and I just didn't notice because my B12 had also been low. I started taking iron supplements
